Create: Throughput Meter
Measure real item quantities as they cross a fixed point on your Create belts. Track production, spot bottlenecks, and compare nearby factories without consuming or changing transported items.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47.4.20 or later in the 47.x series (tested with 47.4.20), and Java 17.
- Create 6.0.8 for Forge 1.20.1. This release requires that exact Create version.
- Install this addon on both client and server. For singleplayer, install it in your client instance.
Place, click, measure
Place the meter against the side of a horizontal belt, at the same height. The sensor faces the belt and the physical display faces outward. Inclined and vertical belts are not supported.
Right-click to open four tabs:
- Overview: current items/minute, last 60 seconds, forward/reverse counts, global and profile totals, five-minute average, peak throughput, and status.
- History: a rolling five-minute production graph; periods without observation remain marked unavailable.
- Configure: all items or one item type, selected direction, target throughput, and percentage-drop alerts.
- Compare: readings from one other loaded meter in the same dimension, within 32 blocks, without forcing chunks to load.
Shift + right-click shows a short reading in chat. A crafting recipe and dedicated creative tab are included. A stack of 64 contributes 64 units. Stationary items do not repeatedly increase the count; return crossings are counted separately.
Filters and saved data
The filter matches a registered item type. Changing it starts a new profile and resets filtered totals, windows, history, and peaks. Global lifetime totals remain intact, including items outside the filter. Changing only the displayed direction preserves the profile.
Totals, profile peaks, and settings are saved with the meter. Runtime windows restart after loading, unloading, or changing belt association. Breaking and replacing a meter creates a new device. Measurement uses real elapsed time and bounded history.
Alerts
Target alerts require 60 seconds of observation. Percentage-drop alerts compare the last minute with the previous minute, require 120 seconds, and need a nonzero previous throughput. Activation and recovery each require 5 seconds of sustained conditions.
An active alert lights up the meter, emits redstone/comparator strength 15, and notifies nearby players once per activation. A missing belt suspends alerts. Set a threshold to zero to disable that condition.
Create Display Links
Attach a Display Link to export current throughput, five-minute average, profile total, or profile peak. All four readings respect the selected filter and direction.
Languages and compatibility
Includes English and Brazilian Portuguese, original block textures/model, and an outward-facing physical display.
Validated with 73 automated unit tests, 15 native GameTests using real Create belts, and an actual client session covering all four tabs, settings, comparison, and both languages. Display Links transferred all four readings to a real sign.
Integration targets the transport methods audited for Create 6.0.8. Other addons modifying those methods or moving items outside them may need compatibility work. Simultaneous multiplayer, prolonged load/low-TPS sessions, physical chunk unloading with a separate server restart, and prolonged alert-receiver testing remain unvalidated.
