Create anti-cheat&bug finder

Server-side anti-cheat and bug finder for Create. Catches cheaters, finds dupes, works out which bug caused them, and writes a bug report to post on our Discord so we can fix it.

Create Anti-Cheat & Bug Finder watches your Create server for cheaters, dupes and the bugs behind them. Ordinary anti-cheats flag players on trains, contraptions and chain conveyors as flying. This one knows those are normal, so it only alerts you about what actually goes wrong on a Create server.

Found a bug? Join our Discord: https://discord.gg/8gFHKMxRGj When the mod finds the cause of a dupe, or your server crashes, it writes a report and asks you to post it there. Every report helps us fix the bug for every server.

How it works

  1. It watches. For each player it remembers the last 15 minutes: blocks used, wrench use, breaks stopped by claims, items picked up, taken out of containers or crafted, commands, and mod packets sent.
  2. It finds the cause. When items appear that none of that explains, it works out which bug or exploit most likely caused them, and writes a report with the evidence.
  3. It tells you. Operators get an alert in chat and the console. When the cause is found, a bug report is written into the anticheat-reports/ folder, with a clickable link asking you to post it on our Discord.

Bug finder

  • Confirmed dupes: a block protected by a claim is still there, but its items reached the player or the ground. The report names the block and the item the player was holding, so you know which mod is to blame.
  • Copied items: two backpacks or toolboxes sharing the same storage id can only be a copy.
  • Gain watch: alerts when a player suddenly gains lots of valuable items (netherite, diamond blocks, beacons, elytra and so on; the list is configurable), and says whether it was normal play or a likely dupe.
  • Bug reports for our Discord: laid out like a crash report, with the cause, the evidence and your mod list. Player names are left out, so they're safe to share.
  • Crash reports: every server crash report is copied into the folder, with the alerts from just before the crash and a note to post it on our Discord. The next time the server starts, it reminds you in the console and tells the first operator who joins.

Anti-cheat

  • Fly and speed checks that ignore trains, contraptions, Aeronautics ships, chain conveyors, hypertubes, ejectors, elytra, jetpacks and other flight gear. Alert-only by default, with an optional setback.
  • Item scan: creative-only items, oversized stacks, enchantments far above their maximum, and edited attributes. Creative-only items are taken away and saved, so they can be given back if it was a mistake.
  • Packet flood limit: alerts on, and then disconnects, players spamming mod packets.

Everything in one folder

Reports go into anticheat-reports/ at the top of the server folder, next to mods/ and crash-reports/, so you'll see it in any panel's file manager:

File / folder What's in it
bug-report-*.txt The cause of a dupe was found. Post it on our Discord
crashes/ Copies of the server's crash reports. Post them on our Discord
dupes/ One report per dupe, with the player's name and recent actions (stays on your server)
incidents/ A crash-report-style file for each alert
alerts.log Every alert, one line each
confiscated.log Items taken from players, with their full data

Commands (operators; /cguard works too)

  • /anticheat status: counters and which checks are on
  • /anticheat recent: the last alerts
  • /anticheat dupes: the last dupe reports
  • /anticheat investigate <player>: writes that player's last 15 minutes of actions to a report
  • /anticheat scan <player>: checks their inventory now
  • /anticheat alerts on|off: mutes chat alerts just for you

Works well with

  • Wrench Dupe Guard: blocks the Create wrench claim exploit. This mod notices every wrench use it stops and reports the attempt.
  • Create Economy Server Fixes already includes the same anti-cheat. If both are installed, this mod switches itself off so nothing runs twice.

Config

createanticheat-server.toml (in world/serverconfig/). Every check can be turned off, including the Discord bug reports (bugReports). The limits, item lists, report folder and creative worlds can all be changed.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge, Create 6.0.x, Java 21
  • Server-side only: players don't need it installed.
  • Operators and players in creative or spectator mode are never checked.
