crafttale government

adds a player run government system for servers

CraftTale Government gives players a voice in how the server is run. You can elect leaders, run for office, vote, and follow changes to server rules and gameplay settings.

Open /gov to access the government portal.

Everyone is assigned to one of five districts, each with its own representative. The government has three branches:

  • House of Reps: Five representatives, one per district. Each district elects its representative every 2 months.
  • President: Elected by the entire server every 4 months. The president signs or vetoes bills and nominates Supreme Court justices.
  • Supreme Court: Up to 3 justices, nominated by the president and approved by 3/5 of the House. Nominees must be qualified staff members. Court decisions require a majority of serving justices. A tied vote changes nothing.

Elections have 3 days for nominations and campaign statements, followed by 4 days of voting. Use the Elections page to run or cast your ballot. Presidential voting is server-wide; representative voting is limited to your district. Ballots are private, and you can change your vote before voting closes. You must be registered before voting opens to participate. Election ties lead to a runoff.

Government members can propose new rules, amend existing rules, and change supported gameplay settings. An ordinary bill needs 3/5 House approval and the president’s signature. If the president vetoes it, a fresh 4/5 House vote can override that veto.

The Supreme Court can issue changes through a court majority. Court-protected rules and settings can only be changed by the court or a unanimous 5/5 House vote. Some setting changes require a server restart.

Officials can also be removed:

  • President or justice: A unanimous 5/5 House vote.
  • Representative: 3/5 House approval, followed by a court majority.

The president can appoint a President’s Helper, who serves as the liaison between the elected government and staff.

The public lawbook starts with our existing Discord rules. Approved in-game amendments update those rules, and staff remain responsible for enforcement. Read the current laws through /gov rules, /laws, or the portal’s Lawbook page.

Officeholders can resign through Actions → Resign, or use /gov resign followed by /gov resign confirm. Presidential and representative vacancies trigger special elections. Court vacancies are filled through nomination and House approval.

Your district, your vote, your chance to help shape the server!
