Fabric NeoForge Requires Cobblemon 1.8 Minecraft 1.21.1

🎬 Make Every Battle Immersive & Easy to Follow

Cobblemon Immersive Battles adds a director camera to every battle. It cuts to the Cobblemon that attacks, puts crucial information above its head, then cuts to whoever takes the hit, all at a pace you can actually follow.

Wild battles, trainer battles, PvP, doubles and spectating are all covered, on Fabric and NeoForge with the same features.

Features of Immersive Battles

  • A camera that directs the fight. - Cuts to the attacker as it moves, then to the target the moment the hit lands with the result. Examples: "It's super effective!", "Venusaur lost 45% of its health!", "Venusaur was burned!"
  • Hits you can feel. - Super-effective and critical hits snap the lens in, and the camera shakes based on the attacker's size and the move's power.
  • Big Cobblemon stay in the shot. - The mod measures each Cobblemon's actual animated model every frame and ensures it stays in shot.
  • The camera follows the animation.
  • Easily turn off certain battles. - Wild Battles, trainer battles, pvp battles can each be configured on their own.

List of shots included in the mod

Moment What the camera does
Battle start An opening flyover of the field
Send-outs Frames the Cobblemon as it lands, including replacements sent in mid-battle
Faints A slow pull-in on the fainting Cobblemon
Mega Evolution, Terastallization, Z-Power, Ultra Burst, Primal Reversion Framed wide enough to keep the transformation effects in view
Dynamax Tilts up and pulls back as the Cobblemon grows
Weather, terrain, side conditions Reflect, Stealth Rock, Tailwind and more get their own cut
Captures A Poké Ball camera that watches your ball from the front while it shakes
Victory A closing shot of the winners

Between turns the camera slowly orbits the field and cuts to close-ups, including whenever a Cobblemon plays one of its idle animations. Battle text appears in a box above the Cobblemon it happened to, with a color strip for the move's type, and the battle log tucks itself away while a turn plays out.

Battles nobody is watching with the camera on (NPC against NPC, or players who switched it off) are never slowed down.

Plays Well With

  • Mega Showdown: Mega Evolution, Terastallization, Dynamax and Z-Moves get their own shots.
  • Battle Extras: its battle log and floating name plates step aside during close shots.
  • Shader packs through Iris.

FAQ

Do my players need it, or just the server?

Both. The camera runs on each player's client, and the server tells it what happened in the battle.

Does it slow battles down?

Only for battles where someone has the camera on, and only long enough to show each shot. Battles with the camera off, and battles nobody is watching, run at normal speed.

Does it work with fakemon and add-on Cobblemon?

Yes. Framing is measured from each Cobblemon's animated model, so custom species of any size fit in the shot.

Can I use this in my modpack?

Absolutely. Immersive Battles is MIT licensed; use it in any modpack or on any server.

Make every battle feel like a showdown!
