Chunk Switch
Survive in the void on a single chunk… that is replaced by a brand-new vanilla chunk every few minutes.
You spawn on a thin border floating in the void. In the middle sits one real Minecraft chunk: a forest, a mountain, an ocean, a village, a piece of an ancient city… When the timer hits zero, everything inside it disappears and another chunk takes its place. Grab what you can, build bridges outward, and make the border your home.
Made for challenges, hardcore runs and Twitch streams: your viewers can switch the chunk, keep it, add or remove time, spawn mobs, give items or drop lit TNT on you.
How it works
- New world type "Chunk Switch": open Customize (like Superflat) to choose:
- the switch time, from 1 to 60 minutes;
- the number of switching chunks: 1, 4 (2×2), 6 (3×2) or 9 (3×3);
- whether the Nether switches too.
- Every new chunk is a real vanilla chunk from the same seed: terrain, ores, caves, structures, and even the villagers, pillagers, witches or guardians that live there.
- Everything inside the chunk is destroyed at each switch: blocks, chests, beds, portals, mobs… Players standing in it are moved to safety on the border.
- What you build outside the chunk is permanent. There is no world border.
- The very first chunk is always a forest, so you can get wood, and you arrive on top of it.
- Strongholds are always there in the void, so you can still beat the game.
- Nether mode: the Nether gets its own switching chunk on the same timer, with fortresses and bastions floating in the void. Nether portals always open on the safe border.
- The End is never touched.
- 8 advancements in their own tab ("Close Call", "Bridge Builder", "Nomad"…).
Display
- Boss bar or compact chrono (key J), countdown sounds and red particles outlining the chunk during the last seconds.
- Messages adapted to each dimension (Overworld, Nether, End).
- OBS overlay (browser source at
http://127.0.0.1:8765/overlay): timer, biome, switch counter, last viewer, with its own Overworld, Nether and End themes. - Translated into 30 languages.
Twitch integration (optional)
Connect from an in-game screen. You never type your Twitch password into the game, and no secret is shipped in the mod.
- Channel Points rewards:
- "Switch the Chunk!";
- "Keep this chunk!";
- as many time rewards as you want (+1 min, -2 min…);
- name, cost and cooldown set from the menu.
- Bits, subs, follows, raids and Hype Train, each with its own thresholds:
- for example 100 / 500 / 1000 / 2000 Bits, every 1, 10 or 1000 follows, each Hype Train level;
- possible actions: switch the chunk, keep it, add or remove time, spawn a mob (any mob, bosses included), give an item (any item), lit TNT.
- Polls and predictions:
- "Which biome for the next chunk?" vote, launched by the streamer;
- "Biome of the next chunk?" prediction, resolved automatically;
- "Keep this chunk?" poll before every switch, every N switches or at random.
- Rewards are hidden on Twitch while you are not playing.
- Everything can be turned on and off from the in-game menu.
Channel Points, Bits, subscriptions, polls and predictions require a Twitch Affiliate or Partner channel.
