ChestOrg 0.1.0-alpha.2 — Fabric 26.3
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Placement checks for your storage
- Added per-container placement rules for verified vanilla single/double chests and barrels in singleplayer. Open Placement → Edit rule to set a label, destination priority and selectors.
- Select by category, material, exact item/tag IDs, shape and variant, with exclusions. Placement uses your selected sorting template’s taxonomy overrides.
- Misplaced items receive coral markers and explanations; unknown classifications remain undecided with amber markers.
- Review mismatches and show a waypoint to the highest-priority matching configured location. Suggestions do not verify destination contents, free space, block existence or permissions.
- Take back to inventory moves one misplaced stack to an empty player slot using verified normal inventory clicks, respecting locked/reserved source slots. Open the destination yourself to deposit.
- Rules persist per world/player scope with atomic saves, and support Copy rule / Paste rule. Invalid, future or oversized files are preserved and disable placement for that world.
- Optional deposit hints cover mouse deposit candidates only; keyboard and drag paths are not covered.
Requirements and limits
Minecraft 26.3, Java 25, Fabric Loader 0.19.5 or newer, and Fabric API 0.162.0+26.3. Client-only experimental alpha. Replace the older ChestOrg JAR; do not install both versions together.
Remote multiplayer placement/sorting/correction, shulker boxes, ender chests, unknown/modded inventories and automatic cross-container transfers are unsupported. Moving/replacing storage can leave stale coordinates; remove or reassign those rules yourself. Sorting uses paced inventory clicks and may take tens of seconds. Escape cancels; place any cursor-held stack manually and reopen the chest to synchronize.
Existing material-aware sorting, editable layouts, templates and Undo are retained.
Validation
36 automated tests passed, plus the full Fabric client runtime suite covering placement editing, highlights, persistence, waypoints and take-back. Remote actions were verified to remain disabled. Other GUI scales, keyboard navigation and mod interoperability remain untested.
