Description
Cataclysm of Chaos is a mod that adds recipe compatibilities between L_Ender's Cataclysm and Born in Chaos. This helps diversify the player's experience by adding a greater sense of progression across the two mods: the gear you earn in Born in Chaos becomes the foundation for Cataclysm's armor.
This mod is inspired by the Beyond Depth progression system.
PROGRESSION
Dark Metal Armor → Eye of Curse → Maledictus → Cursium Armor → Eye of Flame → Ignis → Ignitium Armor
Follow the whole path in game with the Chaos to Cataclysm advancement tab.
RECIPE CHANGES
Cursium Armor (Smithing Table)
Cursium Upgrade template + the matching Dark Metal armor piece + Cursium Ingot. The Dark Metal piece replaces the Netherite one.
Ignitium Armor (Smithing Table)
Ignitium Upgrade template + the matching Cursium armor piece + Ignitium Ingot. Cursium is now the step before Ignitium, Cataclysm's endgame armor.
Cursium and Ignitium Upgrade Templates
Crafted with Born in Chaos's Dark Metal Upgrade template instead of a Netherite Upgrade template.
Eye of Curse
A Nightmare Claw, Ethereal Spirits and Monster Flesh replace the Bone, Phantom Membranes and Rotten Flesh.
Eye of Flame
Smoldering Infernal Embers replace the Netherite Scraps, and two Seeds of Chaos replace one Blaze Powder and one Soul Sand.
Eye of Monstrous
Dark Metal Ingots and Fire Light Dust replace the Netherite Scrap and Blackstone.
Eye of Desert
Fused Bone, Smoked Flesh and Marigolds replace the Bone, Rotten Flesh and Dead Bush.
Netherite Effigy
A Death Totem replaces the Totem of Undying, and an Orb of the Summoner takes the place of one Nether Brick.
Bone Reptile Helmet
Spiny Shell Helmet in the centre, a Kobolediator Skull above it, Koboleton Bones on either side and Ancient Metal Ingots in the top corners.
Bone Reptile Chestplate
Spiny Shell Chestplate in the centre, a Bone Heart above it, Gnawed Bones below it, Koboleton Bones on either side and Ancient Metal Ingots in the four corners.
The Incinerator
Uses a Dark Warblade in place of the Netherite Sword. The Blaze Rods and Ignitium Ingots are unchanged.
All smithing template and ingot parts of the armor recipes have been left untouched.

ADVANCEMENTS
The Chaos to Cataclysm tab guides you from your first Dark Metal Ingot to a full set of Ignitium, with goals for defeating the Netherite Monstrosity, Maledictus, Ignis and the Ancient Remnant.
REQUIREMENTS
- NeoForge 1.21.1: Born in Chaos 1.7+ and L_Ender's Cataclysm 3.33+
- Forge 1.20.1: Born in Chaos 1.7+ and L_Ender's Cataclysm 3.16+
- Cataclysm's own dependencies: Curios API and Lionfish API
GOOD TO KNOW
- JEI and EMI show the new recipes automatically.
- Every Cursium or Ignitium Upgrade template now uses one Dark Metal Upgrade template. Born in Chaos lets you duplicate them with Seeds of Chaos and a Dark Metal Ingot.
- The changes replace Cataclysm's own recipe files, so other mods, datapacks or KubeJS/CraftTweaker scripts that edit the same recipes may clash with them.
- Feel free to use this mod in modpacks.
PLANNED
More recipe tie-ins between the two mods are on the way. Have an idea, or found a recipe conflict? Leave a comment!
CREDITS
All mobs, items and armor belong to the authors of Born in Chaos and L_Ender's Cataclysm. This mod only changes recipes. (perhaps for now)
