βοΈ Boss Progression
Turn Minecraft's boss fights into a customizable progression journey.
Complete challenges, unlock encounters, discover boss locations, earn rewards, and track everything through your personal Boss Journal. Boss Progression is designed for both regular playthroughs and heavily customized modpacks.
π Boss Journal
Every player receives a Boss Journal to track their journey.
The journal displays:
- Available boss encounters
- Unlock requirements and current progress
- Encounter status
- Discovered boss locations
- Completion status and rewards
- Repeatable encounters
Complete the required challenges and you'll receive an invitation containing the location of your newly unlocked encounter.
π Built-In Boss Progression
Boss Progression comes with encounters for:
- πͺ Evoker
- π Elder Guardian
- π Wither
These encounters can be customized, replaced, or used as examples for creating your own progression.
β Custom Requirements
Decide exactly what players must accomplish before a boss becomes available.
Requirements can include:
- Killing specific mobs
- Killing groups of tagged mobs
- Exploration
- Opening or looting containers
- Crafting items
- Obtaining or submitting items
- Completing other configurable objectives
Combine multiple requirements to create longer progression chains.
π Custom Bosses
Boss Progression isn't limited to vanilla bosses.
Create encounters using vanilla or modded entities and customize properties such as:
- Display name
- Health
- Armor
- Attack damage
- Equipment
- Entity NBT
- Glowing outline
- Other supported attributes
This makes it possible to turn ordinary mobs into unique boss encounters or integrate compatible bosses from other mods.
π° Flexible Encounters
Choose how and where an encounter takes place.
Boss Progression supports:
- Existing world-generated structures
- Custom
.nbtstructures - Biome-based encounter locations
Structures can remain inaccessible until the required progression has been completed, allowing boss locations to feel like actual rewards for advancing through the mod.
βοΈ Easy Configuration
Configuration files are automatically generated in:
config/bossprogression/
π₯ Dungeon Destruction
Want defeated dungeons to become ruins?
Boss Progression can optionally trigger a gradual collapse after a boss is defeated.
Instead of instantly deleting the building, destruction happens over time in scattered patches, leaving behind small and irregular ruins.
You can configure:
- Delay before destruction begins
- Destruction speed
- Amount of the structure that remains
- Wall fragments and ruins
The system protects terrain, foundation layers, and tracked player modifications.
Dungeon destruction is supported for structure and custom NBT encounters. It does not apply to biome-based encounters.
β οΈ This feature is currently in development. Back up your world before enabling dungeon destruction.
𧩠Modpack-Friendly
This allows pack creators to build custom progression chains around both vanilla and modded content without hardcoding every encounter into Boss Progression.
Compatibility with every modded entity, block, or custom mechanic cannot be guaranteed.
