Overview
Bloom Audio - Fixes addresses awkward behavior in Minecraft's audio systems. It focuses on corrections to existing systems rather than adding a music library or an expanded jukebox interface.
Features
Music Presentation
- Uses Minecraft's Music Toast interface for background tracks and jukebox songs.
- Replaces the separate jukebox action-bar message.
- Keeps the active song visible from the pause menu when Music Toast is enabled.
- Provides readable fallback names for tracks without translated display metadata.
Background Music and Jukeboxes
- Prevents background music from competing with an audible jukebox.
- Fades and pauses the exact background track, then resumes it when the jukebox stops or becomes inaudible.
- Keeps jukebox music playing during the singleplayer pause screen without unpausing other world sounds.
Transitions and Recovery
- Preserves the active background track while Music volume is muted and resumes it after unmuting.
- Smooths forced background-track replacements with controlled fades.
- Carries active background music or an audible jukebox song through dimension loading before transitioning to destination music.
- Recovers active background and jukebox playback after sound-engine or audio-device reloads when possible.
Usage
The fixes apply automatically. This mod has no separate settings screen. Minecraft's existing sound controls and Music Toast option remain the controls for their respective settings.
Compatibility
The mod is client-side; multiplayer servers do not need to install it.
Audio-device reloads destroy the original sound channels, so recovered tracks may restart. Recovery and transition behavior depend on the sound source remaining available.
