Experimental NVIDIA DLSS and DLAA integration for Minecraft 26.2’s native Vulkan renderer.

VoxelLift

VoxelLift is an experimental graphics enhancement mod that integrates NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution and DLAA into Minecraft 26.2 using Minecraft’s native Vulkan renderer.

The project aims to improve performance and image stability at high resolutions while preserving a responsive and clean Minecraft experience.

Features

  • NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution
  • NVIDIA DLAA at native resolution
  • Quality, Balanced and Performance modes
  • Native Minecraft 26.2 Vulkan integration
  • Automatic NVIDIA RTX compatibility detection
  • Integrated graphics settings menu
  • Resolution and display-mode change handling
  • Safe fallback when DLSS is unavailable
  • Compatible with NeoForge 26.2

The settings can be found under:

Options → Video Settings → General → NVIDIA DLSS / DLAA

Available modes

  • Off – Native Minecraft rendering
  • Quality – Highest DLSS image quality
  • Balanced – Balance between performance and image quality
  • Performance – Higher performance at lower internal resolution
  • DLAA – Native-resolution NVIDIA anti-aliasing

Requirements

  • Minecraft Java Edition 26.2
  • NeoForge 26.2
  • Java 25
  • NVIDIA RTX graphics card
  • A recent NVIDIA graphics driver
  • Minecraft’s native Vulkan graphics backend

VoxelLift currently targets NVIDIA RTX hardware. FSR and XeSS support may be considered in future versions.

Experimental status

VoxelLift is currently experimental.

The mod has been tested with an RTX 4090 using Minecraft’s native Vulkan renderer, including DLSS Quality, DLAA and resolution changes between 1280×720 and 3840×2160.

Image quality, compatibility and performance may vary depending on:

  • GPU and driver version
  • resolution
  • resource packs
  • shaders
  • other rendering or performance mods

Please report visual artifacts, crashes and compatibility issues in the project comments.

Useful information for reports includes:

  • GPU model
  • NVIDIA driver version
  • selected VoxelLift mode
  • output resolution
  • active resource pack
  • active shader pack
  • latest.log

Vivecraft and VR

Vivecraft may remain installed, but DLSS and DLAA are currently disabled while active VR rendering is detected.

True stereo DLSS support requires independent rendering resources, motion vectors and temporal history for both eyes and is planned as separate future work.

VoxelLift must not currently be advertised as providing active DLSS in VR.

Shader compatibility

Shader compatibility is still experimental.

Shader-provided TAA, TAAU, FXAA, SMAA, sharpening and internal upscaling may conflict with DLSS or DLAA. Dedicated shader compatibility profiles are planned.

Do not combine multiple temporal anti-aliasing or upscaling systems unless the shader pack has been specifically validated.

Important notes

VoxelLift does not automatically force users to change their graphics backend.

Creating a DLSS context alone does not guarantee perfect image quality. The project is actively being improved in areas such as:

  • motion vectors
  • temporal jitter
  • texture mip bias
  • foliage stability
  • sharpening
  • shader compatibility
  • resolution-change handling
