This mod will show a simple text containing the name of the biome the player is currently in.
This is useful if you'd like to have constant information about which biome you're currently traveling in, but don't want your screen to be cluttered with other information.
The info will show once for 1.5 seconds after you entered a new biome. It will then fade out. You can change the time the info appears, or have it shown all the time via the mod's configuration options. To turn the display off completely, toggle the corresponding option.
The text will show at the top left corner of Minecraft by default, however you can completely customize its position and color with the ingame configuration. To change the text's color, copy the hexadecimal value of a color into the configuration field. For instance, the hex value of white is ffffff (you can use an online tool to get the value of other colors).
Other configuration options include scaling the text and making the text render with a shadow (true by default).
- This mod is compatible with any other biome mod, like Biomes o' Plenty.
- Should the debug screen (F3) be open, the biome info will not be rendered.
- This mod is a client side mod. It will not do anything if installed on a server.
- Please be careful if you use this on a public server, the rules may not allow its usage.
You are allowed to use this mod in any modpack.

I don't have a config file in my config folder? is their any reason why?
In reply to CR00T_R0M:
The config file will be created in the .minecraft/configs folder and be called biomeinfo-client.toml. If it doesn't show up, you have either not installed the mod correctly, or are looking into the wrong place. Do note, that this is a client side mod and it does nothing when installed on a server. I suggest you install Configured, which gives you a way to modify mod configs from the ingame mods menu, which is a lot easier than navigating to the file and editing it directly.
can it biomeinfo other biome mod?
In reply to MonoGaming163:
Yes.
will you make a config to change if the biome info on the debug screen to render?
In reply to sirkrunkvi:
Do you want a config option so the mod's biome info keeps rendering on the debug screen, or do you want a config option to disable the debug screen's own biome info?
In reply to bl4ckscor3:
nono what I meant to say asks if you could make a config to leave the biome info rendering on the debug screen
In reply to sirkrunkvi:
Soo... the first thing I said. Yes, I can do that.
In reply to bl4ckscor3:
Thank you!
Hello, ive installed the mod in forge 1.17.1 with these differents mods activated : InventoryHUD, XaerosMinimap and OptiForge BUT, it seems like this mod (biomeinfo) isnt working because it doesnt display biome name or else at all on my screen. i tried to change the xy position in the config file of the mod but nothing changed... i need your help
In reply to Nexvs011:
Works for me using BiomeInfo v1.3.1, InventoryHUD 3.4.0, Xaero's Minimap 21.17.2, OptiForge 0.1.1, and OptiFine H1 pre4. Maybe you've completely disabled BiomeInfo in its config? Another thing to note: By default, the biome info text only shows for a few seconds after you changed biome. So try flying around and check if you see the info showing up.
In reply to bl4ckscor3:
Ok thank you for the quick answer !
As a suggestion, the ability to choose how the text is aligned would be a nice feature, or at the very least, have it always center-aligned. So if I want to put the text in the middle of the screen, shorter text won't be offset to the left.

Rather than this
In reply to bigmartin58:
You can already control the exact position of the text via the config file.
does this mod work with OTG mods? or with dimensions mods?
In reply to mebeije223:
Yes.
I think this is something you might need to poke Curseforge about, but this mod isn't appearing in the launcher mod search. Very helpful, Curseforge.
"Text is white" no text is nonexistent. Lol "Roofed Forest M"? Modified Roofed Forest? Roofed Forest Medium Sized? More images with maybe a description update to clarify what is what would also help new eyes. Please and thank you
Besides the question please ignore this... small brain forget to check picture border.
In reply to TheIrishStud:
This mod is not there to explain biomes to players, but merely display the name of the one they are currently in. For an explanation on vanilla biomes, please see the wiki: https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Biome
Where can i configure the colors and location of the info? i cant find the options in-game
