Auto Pickup
Last Updated: Oct 22, 2017 Game Version: 1.12.2
Documentation: https://github.com/Furgl/AutoPickup/wiki
This mod is only required to be installed server-side
This mod requires Forge and is SSP and SMP compatible!
Auto Pickup allows items to be picked up automatically or blacklisted and never picked up. Whenever you do something that creates an item, that item will be automatically placed in your inventory (if it is not in your blacklist). Experience will also be given to you automatically. This works with all modded items!
This applies to
- shooting a bow
- killing mobs
- killing mobs with inventories (applies to all items in the inventory)
- mining ores (fortune, silk touch, etc. still apply)
- breaking blocks
- breaking blocks with inventories (applies to all items in the inventory)
- destroying entities that drop items (paintings, minecarts, armor stands, etc.)
- and more!
I use AutoPickup in MC 1.7.10 and incredibly it just stop working. In the blacklist there is no item but I can't auto pick-up items anymore since I had to go in creative to move myself from a bugged block. Anyone with a solution?
Update to a more recent version of Minecraft. 1.7.10 is outdated and has been unsupported for years.
Well... I have to inform that, since you won't support 1.7.10 which, by the way, talking about mods, is the MOST RESOURCEFUL Minecraft Version, I tried to solve my problem by myself.
It may seems crazy, but I did it. I suggest you to insert some kind of option to disable everything that the mod does, in the config file, since it was that file the one causing my problem. I'm not asking you to do an update for 1.7.10. I know that it's a little bit older. I just think that trying older version of something just to find bug and help it's developer to don't do the same mistake in the future is more important that trying newer version and find nothing. Ok, it will make the developer happy, but everything we don't find out right in the testing phase, will certainly be found while playing the release.
I tried to delete the config about my minecraft character but that didn't work. So I used F3+C (which for those who don't know, create a manual Crash), I deleted AutoPickup.config and I restarted MC. Everything works just fine.
I'm not blaming you for not upgrading the mod. I'm just trying to be helpful to never causing this bug again.
Sorry if my English is not perfect but, as you may see, I'm not a native English speaker. I'm an Italian boy.
Thanks for everything. Hope I helped you.
The reason I encourage you to update to 1.10.2+ is because any issues you find in Auto Pickup in 1.7.10 have already been fixed in more recent versions. 1.7.10 has been outdated for almost 3 years now and has been unsupported by most modders and by Forge themselves for years as well; it is certainly not the most resourceful Minecraft version now. If you encounter any issues with mods or with Forge in 1.7.10, you will likely not be able to receive any help and will be told to use more recent versions of Minecraft. The vast majority of the modding community is using 1.10.2+, if not 1.11+, at the moment.
Can this be updated so we can have a modifier key to disable it whole holding key. Playing Age of Engineering (MC 1.10.2) and added this mod to it, when using machines where items have to be dropped on the ground and then pressing a button near those item(s) it get picked up. Disabling this mod fixes this issue.
You can add items that you don't want instantly picked up to your blacklist. Then, if you do want to pick them up, hit the Ignore Blacklist key while near them.
I think this mod sometimes causes items to disappear.
Lost a couple of items through strange reasons already.
Only case I could identify so far was when I put 7 iron out of a furnace and put 3 of them into the vanilla crafting table. Had to leave the crafting table to craft sticks and came back with the iron gone and nowhere to be soon around the crafting table.
Also once I broke a couple oak trapdoors and one disappeared.
Love your mod though. It's nice to have the benefit of magnet mod without collecting random junk. :)
Keep up the good work
I'm glad you're enjoying the mod! I've tried playing around with taking items out of a furnace, throwing items out of a crafting table, breaking a furnace, and a few other things and haven't had any items disappear. If you can find a way to consistently have items disappear, I can certainly fix it.
I just figured out that the autowalk mod I use also has autopickup it seems. Maybe I accidentally enabled the feature and it interfered.
i tried the newst one and as soon as i cut down a tree it crashed the game and logged out
Please post as much information as you can: the Forge version you're using, the crash log (in a spoiler), and what you are doing in the game to cause the crash.
What happens to items dropped by forces like water (i.e. torches, rails) or when a player's inventory is full? Do they still drop to the ground?
How is the config properly formatted, and does each player get to specify their own blacklist or does it have to be modified on the server side?
Items dropped by forces other than players or when a player's inventory is full will spawn on the ground normally. The config is managed server side; it stores the blacklist and settings for each player.
Will this mod work on any Multiplayer server or does the server need forge?
The server would need Forge and Auto Pickup installed in order to use this mod with it
Could you make the Mod like DPU - with a simple item to change the Pickuprules.
How do I configure blacklist options? Every time I throw an item away it blacklists it and I don't want that, I'm normally just making space, thanks in advance, great mod btw
Blacklist commands are all detailed in the documentation: www.sites.google.com/site/furglsmods/auto-pickup/blacklist. I'm glad you like the mod!
your mods is soooo cool
Thank you, glad you like them :)
