# Amethyst Sword

Amethyst Sword is a lightweight weapon mod for Minecraft Forge 1.20.1.

The mod adds a craftable amethyst sword with randomized attack damage. Each direct hit can deal a different amount of damage, making combat less predictable than with a normal Minecraft sword.

## Features

- Adds the Amethyst Sword.
- Random direct-hit damage from 6 to 10.
- Possible damage values: 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10.
- 175 durability.
- Full attack recharge takes 1.5 seconds.
- Attacking before the weapon is fully recharged deals reduced damage using Minecraft's normal attack recharge system.
- Standard sword enchantments are supported.
- Enchantment damage is added on top of the randomized base damage.
- Supports critical hits.
- Supports sweeping attacks.
- Breaks cobwebs and bamboo like a normal sword.
- Includes English and Russian localization.
- No required dependencies.

## Random Damage

Every direct attack randomly selects one of the following base damage values:

- 6 damage
- 7 damage
- 8 damage
- 9 damage
- 10 damage

Weapon enchantments are calculated in addition to this randomized damage.

For example, Sharpness, Smite and Bane of Arthropods can increase the final damage when their normal conditions are met.

## Attack Cooldown

The Amethyst Sword takes 1.5 seconds to become fully charged after an attack.

Players can attack before the cooldown finishes, but the hit will deal reduced damage according to Minecraft's normal attack recharge mechanics.

The Amethyst Sword supports standard sword enchantments, including:

- Sharpness
- Smite
- Bane of Arthropods
- Knockback
- Fire Aspect
- Looting
- Sweeping Edge
- Unbreaking
- Mending
- Curse of Vanishing

## Crafting Recipe

The sword is crafted like a normal Minecraft sword using two amethyst shards and one stick.

## Installation

1. Install Minecraft Forge for Minecraft 1.20.1.
2. Download the Amethyst Sword JAR file.
3. Place the JAR file into the Minecraft `mods` folder.
4. Install the same mod version on the server when playing multiplayer.
5. Start Minecraft.
