Allay Folks - UI & HALLOWEEN UPDATE
Allays that are real little companions. Tame them, give them a home, put them to work and take one on your adventures. Nine allay variants, each with its own home, power and job skills.

New allay: Blaze Allay
- A little fire spirit in real blaze colours. It has no wings and floats on two rings of spinning blaze rods instead, with light wisps of smoke (steam in rain).
- Tame it with blaze powder or fire charges. It's immune to fire and lava.
- Its homes are in Nether wastes and basalt deltas.
Allay Boons: every variant now has a power
A boon only works while that allay is your companion (following you or on your shoulder). Your inventory shows an Allay Boons entry with your allay's face, and its tooltip lists its boons.

| Axolotl | Air Bubble | When your head is under water, it blows you a bubble: you can breathe and swim faster. The bubble sits around your head like a diving helmet, with a frame on screen in first person. |
| Slime | Jelly Boots | Slime cubes on your feet. Falls of up to 16 blocks bounce you without hurting. Longer falls still bounce, and the extra height only does half damage. Sneak to land without bouncing. |
| Sculk | Sculk Veil | Blinds hostile mobs that can see you, with dark smoke over their heads. They can't target you until they get hurt or you come within 2 blocks. Each mob can only be blinded once, and wardens and bosses can't be. |
| Mushroom | Spore Friend | Spore particles drift around it. Animals within 10 blocks come over, and shy ones (cats, ocelots, foxes, rabbits, fish) stop running from you. |
| Bee | Bee Friend | Bees never get angry at you, so you can harvest hives without smoke. It also throws honey at a hostile mob coming for you, making a puddle that slows every hostile mob in it to cobweb speed for 8 seconds (10 s cooldown). |
| Ender | Pearl Maker | Makes an ender pearl every 3 minutes (every 8 if its hands are full), and your own pearls don't hurt you. |
| Blaze | Fire Ward | Gives you one extra level of Fire Protection, and fire on you goes out 3 times faster. |
| Undead | Grave Guard | Fights the hostile mobs that you hit or that hit you. How strong it is depends on its wither skulls (see below). |
Undead Allay: wither skulls
- Give it wither skeleton skulls (up to 3). Each skull changes its look, with its own transformation animation:
- 1 skull: black, like a wither skeleton.
- 2 skulls: the Wither's own colours.
- 3 skulls: the full three-headed Wither, with a longer and bigger final transformation.
- Its Grave Guard power grows with each skull:
- 0 skulls: a little bow with weak arrows.
- 1 skull: a stone sword.
- 2 skulls: a stronger sword that also gives Wither.
- 3 skulls: the sword up close, and small wither skulls from range. The skulls explode without breaking blocks.
- It only ever attacks mobs that are hostile to you, never you, your pets or animals.
- Holding a wither skeleton skull attracts it, just like its food.
- Jade shows how many skulls it has (0/3 to 3/3).
Other new things
- Farmers harvest modded fruit: fruit leaves, bushes and vines that you pick by right-clicking, like the ones in Vinery.
- Jade shows an allay's owner, even while that player is offline.
- Allays are safe from the void. An allay that falls out of the world comes back next to its owner, or to the last solid ground it was over.
- Every allay now has blushing cheeks, including on its map icon and boon icon.
- The Bee and Blaze allays have darker, easier-to-see eyes.
Fixes
- Multiplayer: after a server restart, pets could act wild and follow other players while their owner was offline. Now only the owner can lead, lure or give items to a pet. While the owner is offline, the pet waits, and it rejoins them when they log back in.
- Taming a new allay while the old one carried a lantern left you with two allays following you. The old one now hands back its lantern (or station) and goes home.
- Allays drifted upward in water, because water counted as tall grass. They now stay close to you while you swim.
