AE2 Patterns

Combine 2-8 AE2 processing patterns that produce the same primary output and assign a production share to each route. For example, request 60% through essence processing and 40% through honeycomb processing.

Getting started

1. Install on BOTH client and server, with Applied Energistics 2.
2. Keep the original processing patterns mounted in their machine Pattern Providers.
3. Use the Composite Pattern Terminal to select patterns, set shares totaling 100%, and encode a Blank Composite Pattern.
4. Put the encoded composite into the terminal registration slots and request its output through AE2.
5. Enable automatic redistribution to let registered alternatives cover shortages. With it disabled, the configured shares are preserved.

• Forge 1.20.1: Java 17, tested with AE2 15.4.10.
• NeoForge 1.21.1: Java 21, tested with AE2 19.2.17.

Scope

Composite sources must be simple processing patterns with the same primary output. Nested composites, crafting-table sources, fuzzy/substitution inputs, remaining containers, multiple outputs and dynamic patterns are unsupported. Native executable counts must fit signed long; internal BigInteger share arithmetic does not mean wide physical crafting is supported. Adaptive redistribution is not an exhaustive solver.

AE2 owns inventory simulation, missing ingredients, CPU bytes and physical execution. This is an independent addon, not an official AE2 project. ACO is optional and not required; its experimental backend is limited to the compatible VM ABI documented in the repository. No universal ACO compatibility or TPS improvement is claimed.
