Worldwide radio · Radio Garden search · direct streams · YouTube videos and livestreams · no FFmpeg required
Your Minecraft world just found a radio dial.
Press R and search for a city. Berlin, London, Tokyo, New York – or somewhere you have never heard before.
Pick a place, choose a station and keep playing while real radio from around the world runs inside Minecraft. No browser window sitting behind the game. No external player to manage. No tab you need to keep open.
Just Minecraft and whatever is broadcasting out there.
Radio Garden, directly inside Minecraft
Absolute Radio Mod brings Radio Garden search into an in-game menu.
Search for a city or station, open its list and start listening without leaving your world. Station results are loaded only when needed and cached afterwards, so the mod avoids repeatedly hammering the service with identical requests.
The interface stays open over the game instead of pausing it. You can search, change stations, adjust the volume or stop playback while the world continues around you.
Not limited to Radio Garden
Already have a stream you want to hear?
Enter its URL directly. Absolute Radio Mod supports:
- Direct MP3 streams
- M3U and PLS radio playlists
- YouTube videos
- YouTube livestreams
You can also enter your own station name, so saved links do not have to look like a wall of random characters.
YouTube playlists are deliberately not queued automatically. The mod plays the video or livestream you selected instead of silently turning one link into hours of unrelated content.
Only play streams and videos that you are allowed to use in this context.
No FFmpeg installation
There is no separate FFmpeg download and nothing to configure outside Minecraft.
Playback is handled inside the mod. Open the radio, paste a supported link and press Play.
Your last station and volume are remembered in:
config/absoluteradiomod.json
When you return, the radio is ready where you left it.
Made for actual modpacks
Absolute Radio Mod is entirely client-side. It does not need to be installed on the server and does not change the world or add server-side content.
Requests are cached and rate-limited:
- Searches are cached for ten minutes
- Radio Garden station lists are cached for four hours
- Duplicate requests are combined
- The global Radio Garden place list is not mass-downloaded
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.20.1 — Fabric and Forge
- Minecraft 1.21.1 — Fabric, Forge and NeoForge
- Minecraft 26.1 — Fabric and NeoForge
- Minecraft 26.2 — Fabric and NeoForge
- Minecraft 26.3 — Fabric and NeoForge
A note about Radio Garden
Radio Garden does not provide an official public API. The mod uses the same unauthenticated website endpoints that Radio Garden currently uses to load station information.
Those endpoints may change or become unavailable without notice. Absolute Radio Mod is not affiliated with Radio Garden or YouTube.
Playback is powered by JLayer, Lavaplayer and the Lavalink YouTube source. The required components are bundled with the mod, so the radio works without a separate media player or FFmpeg installation.
