Note for players on older versions: The legacy file labeled Alpha (MC 1.21.8–1.21.11) is available for backwards compatibility, but it carries a reduced feature set and lacks the modern setup GUI, dual activation modes, and advanced durability safety engine present in this main release.

Say goodbye to complicated manual setups!

• Upon first joining a world (or resetting configuration), players are greeted with an interactive chat GUI.

• Features 6 clickable chat buttons: Hold Sneak, Always Active, ON, OFF, Status, and Help.

• Clickable text elements utilize native hover tooltips and command actions to configure your personal preferences in seconds.

⛏️ 2. Dual Activation Modes

Choose the mining style that best fits your playstyle:

• 🖐️ Hold Sneak (Default Mode): Mine an ore while holding Shift/Sneak to trigger vein mining. Releasing Shift lets you mine single blocks normally.

• 🔄 Always Active Mode: Vein mining triggers automatically on any supported ore—no need to crouch! Perfect for fast cave clearing.

• Toggle between modes anytime using the setup GUI or in-game triggers (/trigger vm_mode set 2 for Hold Sneak, /trigger vm_mode set 3 for Always Active).

🔗 3. Face-to-Face 3D Ore Chaining

Detects and harvests continuous ore veins expanding in 3D space:

• Ore Families: Recognizes connected blocks within the same ore family (e.g., Coal, Iron, Gold, Redstone, Lapis, Diamond, Emerald, Nether Quartz, Nether Gold, and Ancient Debris).

• Deepslate Blending: Standard ores and their Deepslate variants belong to the same family and chain together seamlessly!

• Family Isolation: Mining an Iron vein will never accidentally break adjacent Diamond, Gold, or Coal ores.

• Connection Rule: Checks 6-way face-to-face direct contact (Up, Down, North, South, East, West) to ensure continuous vein lines.

🛠️ 4. Tier-Based Tool Engine & Durability Safety Guard (Anti-Break)

Vein Miner 3D checks pickaxe tiers and applies real-time durability reductions while keeping your gear safe:

• 7 Supported Tiers: Full built-in support for Wooden, Stone, Copper, Iron, Gold, Diamond, and Netherite pickaxes.

• Tier Gating: Higher-tier ores (like Diamond or Ancient Debris) require a pickaxe capable of breaking them in vanilla play.

• Durability Loss: Mined blocks deduct durability from your tool using specialized item modifiers based on tool tier.

• 🛡️ Durability Safety Guard (Anti-Break): Never lose your precious tool to a sudden huge vein! Vein mining automatically halts before your pickaxe breaks, saving your tool at low durability so you can repair it.

🍀 5. Full Fortune & Silk Touch Support

Preserves vanilla loot tables and enchantment logic:

• Fortune Support: Additional ore drops are calculated using the player's main-hand tool, preserving Fortune drops on all chained blocks.

• Silk Touch Support: Skips extra XP drops and awards raw block drops when Silk Touch is detected.

📏 6. Configurable Vein Limits

Prevents runaway lag and keeps mining balanced:

• Default Limit: 32 blocks per activation.

• Hard Safety Clamp: Strict 64-block absolute maximum cap to ensure optimal server tick rates.

• Operators can adjust limit thresholds using administrative commands (/function veinminer:admin/set_max).

🎮 How to Use

1. Drop the datapack .zip file into your world's datapacks folder.

2. Load the world (or type /reload).

3. Click your preferred options in the Welcome GUI that appears in chat.

4. Equip an appropriate pickaxe.

5. Approach a supported ore vein and mine a block (hold Shift if using Hold Sneak mode)!
