What's new
DAI Damage Indicators v1.3
Damage Presentation
- Increased floating damage-number size for much better readability
- Increased indicator lifetime to approximately 3.5 seconds
- Added gentle upward movement while indicators are active
- Improved positioning above damaged entities
- Added centered billboard rendering so numbers remain readable from the player's view
- Added shadow and transparent-background presentation
- Added stable one-decimal damage values
Damage Detection
- Tracks outgoing player damage using Minecraft's cumulative
damage_dealtstatistic - Calculates only the damage dealt since the previous game tick
- Added nearest recently damaged entity detection using
HurtTime - Prevents the attacker from accidentally being selected as the damage target
- Added fallback indicator placement in front of the player when the damaged entity cannot be resolved, such as when a target dies immediately
- Resynchronizes damage tracking automatically if the underlying statistic changes or resets
Rendering Fixes
- Replaced the incomplete display transformation used by the previous implementation
- Added the complete Minecraft 26.2 display transformation structure
- Removed dependency on the previous custom damage font
- Damage values now use Minecraft's default font
- Damage text is frozen into the display when the hit occurs instead of remaining tied to a changing scoreboard value
- Fixed cases where indicators could incorrectly appear as
0.0
Addon Separation
- Removed all target HUD functionality
- Removed health-panel functionality
- Removed range-display functionality
- Damage Indicators now handles floating combat numbers only
- Survival and target information has been moved into the separate DAI Survival Interface addon
- Explicitly declared the datapack as a DAI ADDON
- Designed to stack with Survival Interface and other DAI addons
Compatibility
- Built for Minecraft Java 26.2
- Built for DAI 1.9.5
- Completely resource-pack independent
