The half of ChaosLoop a datapack cannot do.
A datapack on 1.20.1 cannot read a player's inventory back out, cannot fetch a skin, and cannot delete a world. This does those and hands the results back over a scoreboard.
Paper 1.20.1. The datapack is what you actually want — this on its own does very little.
What it adds
The vault. A minigame should be the same game for everybody. Whatever you are carrying is held at the door and given back at the end, prizes on top; anything that will not fit is dropped at your feet rather than deleted. Your walkie-talkie stays with you, because being unable to talk is not a fair fight.
Graves. Die and your things wait in a chest at the spot, not on the floor for twelve minutes. More than an inventory's worth becomes a double chest.
Mimics. Hostile mobs wearing your friends' skins and names, fetched live. They hunt, they gather, and they are exactly as unsettling as that sounds.
World reset. /chaosloop reset confirm deletes and regenerates the world, optionally on a seed you name. Everybody waits in a sealed room while it happens.
The Chronicle. When the dragon falls, a written book for each player: leaderboard, per-player stats, ore counters, a clickable contents page.
Walkie-talkies. Craftable, tuneable, audible at any distance to anybody on the same frequency. Needs Simple Voice Chat — optional. Without it the radios craft and tune and simply carry no sound; nothing else changes.
Install
1. ChaosLoop-Plugin-1.0.0.jar into plugins/ 2. The ChaosLoop datapack into world/datapacks/ 3. Restart, then /function chaosloop:setup
Notes
- Every optional dependency is loaded behind a guard, so a missing plugin is a missing feature and never a stack trace.
- No third-party code is bundled in the jar.
