YOSHI RESORT: New Bosses, Structures, Gear & More (New Biomes Update!)

The Yoshi Resort Addon introduces a load of new and weird (but fascinating!) features to spice up your Minecraft world, from new blocks and Yoshi mobs to new structures and boss mobs to fight

Hello there, good MCPEDL or curseforge user. Ever wanted an addon that adds a relatively large set of features to the game, most of which having little to or no relation to eachother whatsoever? If so, you have an interesting taste in addons. Just like me! So this addon is gonna do that by introducing a bunch of cool new features to your game that I promise you will like, even if you probably won’t get most of it. Only about 5 people in the entire world will be able to fully understand this addon, but don’t let that hinder your enjoyment of it ok?

This addon, as mentioned above, introduces quiiiiite a lot of stuff to your Minecraft game… like, 200 blocks, 200 items, nearly 100 mobs and over 50 structures worth of stuff. Explaining all of that stuff would be take a really long time and be like the length of an entire book, so for the sake of my and your time, I’m just gonna explain some of the more notable features introduced by this mod and let you discover the rest on your own. Ok? Ok!

Yeah so, since this is the Yoshi Resort addon what better place could there be to begin than with the Yoshis themselves? They come in a plethora of different variants that all do differing things or have different drops from eachother, on top of having varying colours and appearances. Some are predators that will hunt animals, others are hostile towards the player as well and many of them are inspired by a certain game that involves slimes and ranching them. Some Yoshis like a particularly sweet treat, Cupcakes, which you can craft and use to breed them as well! Of course, they don’t all spawn in the same place and will only reside in certain structures or biomes - explore the world to find as many of them as you can! The Yoshi’s appearance will often give a good idea as to where they spawn in, so that can help you if you are trying to find all of them or something.

There is also a special Yoshi disguise that you can wear to look just like a Yoshi, and fit in with a big crowd of the green ones if you want! Wearing the Yoshi Head will also cause the aggressive Feral Yoshis to not attack you since they think you are one of them, which is a minor but helpful little feature, you can place it too like other heads. You can either craft the outfit using various colours of wool (mostly green of course) or through much more brutal means…

Many of the other mobs included in this addon consist of new NPC characters, who you can find in various places all over your Minecraft world. These characters generally aren’t gonna be hostile to you right away and just mind their own business, but some of them will become hostile if you decide to pick a fight with them so watch out for that! Some of the NPCs you can find include Tommy, a friendly Yoshi who may carry a sword that you can trade a Cupcake or Notch Apple with him to get, Llama, a cool skeleton guy who likes to sell mushrooms in savanna biomes, and Joshua, a spider scientist who performs experiments in a small lab of his in desert biomes, though there are plenty of other characters too.

Many of these characters can be traded with to obtain some unique items, and many of them can only be traded with using Tokens, which are a brand new and shiny Yoshi-themed currency. You can obtain Tokens from a couple of different places, including loot in many structures and from defeating certain rare mobs and bosses, so hopefully you should have enough to get some good trading done!

Goblin

Similar to the Pottery Sherds introduced in the 1.20 update, you’ll be able to sometimes a Marouflage type from excavating the gravel of Trail Ruins or as chest loot in some other places. Using these, you can make some nice looking gray pots which will make great decorations for a ruined like build! The pots are fragile and so will break back into their marouflages if you smash them, but unlike the decorated pots you can’t mix and match their designs or place items inside, sorry bout that.

You like delicious drinks? Well, say hello to these drinks! They may or may not be delicious depending on your view of flavours, as the drinks included are Tango Dark Berry, Lemon and Lime Water, Kelp Shake and the ASDA Chocolate Milk! You can brew them in a brewing stand using a water bottle and a respective ingredient, depicted next to the drink in the picture. Each of them can be consumed for some nice saturation as well as a small effect that lasts for a little while but is very powerful, for example the sugar concentration in a Tango Dark Berry lets you run really quickly whilst the ASDA Chocolate Milk poisons you since it has a tendency to choke individuals. You can also turn the ASDA Chocolate Milk into a throwable splash version with gunpowder that you can use to bring about some odd effects on your enemies! COOL!

Another pretty notable feature in this mod that is technically related to Yoshis as well is the addition of a new ore, that being Yoshium! What’s interesting about this ore is that it is found not only in the Overworld deep underground, but within the Nether and End too which shows that it is present within the history of all 3 dimensions! It is pretty uncommon in most places, but you can actually find more of the ore spawning underneath snow biomes and harvest it with any pickaxe to collect some Raw Yoshium. Raw Yoshium can then be smelted into Yoshium, which has a pretty large range of uses such as making a set of tools and armour which you have to craft in conjunction with Blaze Rods.

Yoshium equipment is not the strongest in the game; the armour and tools are about as powerful as iron counterparts but the fascinating part is that they do not have any durability, meaning that you can use them as much as you want without having to worry about breaking! Yoshium equipment also has higher enchantability than most other tiers of equipment, meaning that you’re more likely to get better enchantments when using these tools at an enchanting table which is nice. Other items you can make using the ore include an apple which can be consumed to give some effects, an Amulet that you can wear for some bonus effects, an upgrade to the Goat Horn which knocks mobs away when blown and two types of throwable spear! Also you can use Yoshium to make a decorative block or vase which can look nice amongst your other decorations, and for bartering with a new Yoshi NPC named the Picaro to get some loot from her which could be helpful…

Want some more stuff to explore whilst on your adventures throughout the Minecraft world? No problem! Introduced by this addon is a ton of new structures for you to find in many different biomes, including ruins found in forest biomes, special elemental islands and science labs in deserts and caves, which you can seek about to find special new blocks and items and even interact with new mobs. There’s even new content to be discovered in the skies of the overworld, including floating islands that can house loot and new material named Starsteel, which can be used to craft some of the most powerful items in the game! Maybe the Happy Ghast or some other sort of flying transportation can help you reach those exciting new heights…

Are the Wither and Ender Dragon not enough in terms of bosses for you to take down in Minecraft? Well the final notable thing introduced in this addon is a plethora of brand new boss fights for you to challenge and take down in exchange for unique loot from each of them! The new bosses range from the Lorax himself, who resides in Cherry Grove biomes, to the mighty MC Ride who can be summoned by crafting a new item called the Deathly Mural and using it. There’s a total of 12 new bosses introduced, with many of them being summonable by finding a unique structure and using a certain block or item found in that structure to bring them into existence. Each boss will drop a bunch of Tokens as well as unique items, ranging from collectibles to new weapons and armour for you to use! The addon even includes a final boss, who is very challenging and can only be summoned by defeating a bunch of elemental-related bosses and assembling their drops into a special summon item. Good luck…
