It is mostly certainly the month of October, meaning things are way spookier then usual. But with just 3 weeks to go until Halloween, is the world of Minecraft simply not spooky enough for you? If so then I may have just the right solution for you… GHOSTS!! This addon not only introduces Ghosts but also a powerful new boss that can only be summoned with a special item made using Ectoplasm dropped from the Ghosts. Though the new boss has several unique drops and there are several other things you can make using Ectoplasm too, making it a pretty versatile mod. Enjoy, but try not to get spooked!
The obvious first thing to talk about here would have to be the Ghosts themselves, which are a new hostile mob that spawn in roofed forest and pale garden biomes at night. They like to just fly around, sometimes gaining the ability to phase through blocks and charging towards any nearby players or villagers to swoop in for an attack! Their behaviour is kinda similar to the Vex, but with slightly tougher stats including increased size and a weakness debuff on hit so be wary! On death they have a chance to drop Ectoplasm, which is a pretty useful item within this mod.
Ectoplasm is featured within a couple of new recipes, one of them being some Ectoplasm Eyes if combined with an Eye of Ender. If you use this eye it will turn you invisible and blast you into the air, but it gives you slow falling and a speed boost as well so it can be handy for quick movement!
The last item was useful for speeding you up, but if you’re a fan of slowing mobs down instead then the Stunning Whistle has you covered! Craft one using some Ectoplasm and a Copper Ingot, then blow it when nearby mobs to stun their movement for a short period! Though the whistle does have a cooldown between uses and durability; repair it using Ectoplasm if damaged.
Ectoplasm is even useful for making some decorative blocks! With just 4 Ectoplasm you can make a soul spewing block of Ectoplasm, but be careful where you place it as without a Silk Touch tool you won’t get all the Ectoplasm back when breaking it. There are Ghostly Bricks you can even make using Ectoplasm and Brick items, which can be crafted or stonecutted into slabs, stairs and walls too! Don't forget about the cracked and chiseled variants for building as well...
More importantly then the other items, you can create a Malice Lurer using this pretty difficult recipe. This item doesn't serve any purposes on it's own; you must locate a small altar-like structure made of ghostly bricks, which can rarely spawn in the same biomes as the ghosts can. At the centre of the altar sits a small Haunted Core, and if you use the lurer on it you will unleash the big bad boss of this addon...

…the EVIL SOUL WITCH! This boss is only for the worthy players of Minecraft who are craving a challenging but also rewarding fight in their worlds, and hopefully the Soul Witch shall provide that. She boasts 420 health, immunity to several forms of damage and a wide range of different abilities, from teleporting around and summoning deadly hostile spirits to creating clones of herself and firing out several different projectile types! There’s even a unique boss track for the fight, which you can obtain yourself by assembling fragments dropped by her on death into a playable disc. On top of that, she will also drop some Ectoplasm and one of four unique weapons if defeated! There’s the Spirit Sceptre which lets you summon your own ghosts to attack mobs, the Soul Slasher which withers mobs and deals extra damage against ghosts and witches, and one of two Soul Tome types: one that releases sonic blasts and another that shoots powerful fireballs!

In addition, the witch will always drop either a Wicked Hat or Wicked Robe when defeated, both of which you can wear to look just like her. These equipment pieces will not only provide some armor when worn but also give some buffs and make you immune to certain effects like poison, which can make them pretty handy!
