Wandering Villager

Craft a Settlement Contract, use it on a Wandering Trader, and thirty seconds later he’s a permanent villager — unemployed, biome-matched, llamas set free. No zombie curing, no minecart line, no existing villager required.
Getting your first villager is one of the great unspoken chores of Bedrock. Either you find a village 900 blocks away and build a minecart line of genuine engineering ambition — at the end of which your librarian clips through the rail, wanders into a hole and drowns — or you cure a zombie villager. And if you play on Peaceful, that second door was never open to you at all, because zombie villagers don't spawn. The entire trading economy sits behind a lock you weren't given a key to.
Meanwhile, the Wandering Trader. Turns up unannounced. Two llamas in tow. Stands in your doorway. Sells you a bucket of tropical fish. Vanishes forty minutes later having contributed nothing to your life.
He is, structurally, a villager who has simply refused to commit.
Wandering Villager gives you the means to change his mind.
Hand him a contract. That's the whole addon.
Craft a Settlement Contract from paper, an ink sac and a gold ingot — shapeless, on any crafting table — and use it on any Wandering Trader.
He'll stop. He'll consider his life choices. And over the next thirty seconds he settles down: slowing to a halt in a cloud of green particles, to the same sound the golden apple makes when you cure a zombie villager. Then he's a villager. A real one, permanently.
No commands. No config menu. No experimental toggles. One item, one right-click.
Thirty seconds you have to see him through
This is deliberate, and it's the bit that makes it feel earned rather than cheap. Curing a zombie villager takes time and exposes you to risk, so this does too.
If the trader dies before he's finished settling in, the contract dies with him. Stand between him and anything with teeth. Bring a shield. See him through it.
He won't trade while he's settling, either — so if you want his stock, buy it before you hand over the contract. And he can't quietly despawn on you mid-conversion, even if you've bought him out or he's near the end of his visit. Once he's started, he finishes or he dies trying.
He arrives unemployed, and looking local
The new villager turns up unemployed and adult, so the profession is entirely your call — drop a job site block in front of him and he'll take up whatever you want him to be.
His skin matches whatever biome you convinced him in. Talk him round in a desert and you get a desert villager; do it in a taiga and you get a taiga villager. Desert, jungle, savanna, snow, swamp, taiga and plains are all covered, exactly as though he'd been born there.
The llamas keep their freedom
His two leashed llamas are suddenly unemployed themselves. Rather than leaving them orphaned or deleting them, they're set loose as ordinary llamas — yours to tame, carpet and load up as you see fit.
The point: it works on Peaceful
Every ingredient is obtainable without an existing villager and without a hostile mob. No zombie villagers, no raids, no curing, no trading for the thing that unlocks trading.
If you've ever started a Peaceful world and quietly accepted that the economy simply wasn't for you, this is the addon that opens the door.
Installation
- Download the
.mcaddonfile - Open it — Minecraft imports both packs automatically
- When creating or editing a world, activate the Wandering Villager behaviour pack (the resource pack comes with it)
- Enter the world, craft a contract, and go and find someone to talk into settling down
