What is up, Minecraft survival legends? Let us be totally honest for a second. Playing vanilla survival is incredibly fun for the first few weeks, but once you get your full set of enchanted netherite armor and beat the Ender Dragon, the game just feels kind of dead. There is no real reason to keep grinding, no reason to kill random mobs, and no reason to go mining for coal or iron anymore. 

I got completely sick of that late-game boredom. So, as a 26-year-old guy who grew up playing massive RPG games, I decided to bring that exact same leveling energy straight into Bedrock Edition. I have built a massive, fully functional RPG Skill Tree add-on that tracks everything you do in the game and rewards you for just playing survival naturally.

How to access your skills

I absolutely hate add-ons that force you to craft ten different weird custom items just to open a simple menu. I wanted to keep this extremely clean and vanilla-friendly. To open your skill tree, all you have to do is hold a regular vanilla Book in your hand and crouch. That is it. A clean custom UI will pop up on your screen showing your total level, your available skill points, and the three main paths you can choose to upgrade.

The Mining Path

If you are the kind of player who spends hours strip mining at y-level negative 58, this tree is going to make you incredibly overpowered. Every time you break stone, coal, iron, or diamonds, you earn Mining XP. As you level up, you get skill points to spend on crazy perks. I am talking about an Efficiency perk that increases your mining speed, and a Fortune perk that gives you extra ore drops. But the real game-changers are the higher-level perks. You can unlock Vein Miner to break entire connected ore veins in one single swing, Auto-Smelt so your raw iron drops as finished ingots, and eventually, a permanent Haste Aura so you never need a beacon again.

The Combat Path

For the sweaty PvP players and mob hunters, the Combat tree is where you want to dump your points. You get XP for hitting entities, killing regular mobs, and a massive chunk of XP for taking down bosses like the Wither. You can upgrade your raw Strength to deal extra damage per hit, or boost your Critical hit chance. If you struggle to survive in hardcore, you can unlock Lifesteal to actually heal your own health every time you punch an enemy. For the true endgame players, there is an Execute perk that instantly kills any mob if they drop below ten percent health, and a Berserk mode that doubles your damage when your own health gets dangerously low.

The Agility Path

This is probably the most unique tree I coded. You get Agility XP simply by running around, sprinting for twenty seconds straight, jumping, and just surviving through the night without sleeping. Spending points here turns you into an absolute speed demon. You can unlock permanent Speed and Jump Boosts. But the best part is the Dash perk, which lets you double-tap your sprint button to literally dodge attacks. If you max this tree out, you can get Feather Falling to completely cancel all fall damage, which is a literal lifesaver when you are exploring the Nether or the End dimensions.

The Secret Synergies

I did not want players to just dump all their points into one single tree and ignore the rest. So, I coded a secret Synergy system. If you manage to reach Level 10 in two different skill trees, you unlock a powerful combined ability. For example, if you get Mining to level 10 and Combat to level 10, you unlock Stone Skin, which gives you raw armor resistance just for holding a pickaxe in your hand. If you combine Combat and Agility, you get Shadow Step, an insane ability that lets you teleport directly behind enemies. And combining Mining and Agility gives you Swift Excavation, letting your haste effect last even after you stop mining so you can run away faster.

Ranks, Milestones, and Respecs

As you grind your levels, the game actually recognizes your dedication. You will get global chat announcements and massive screen titles when you hit specific milestones like Adept, Grandmaster, or Expert. If you are crazy enough to hit the absolute max Level 100 Legend status, the game automatically drops a free Netherite Ingot into your inventory as a reward. Also, I added a funny little easter egg title if you hit level 69.

And do not worry if you mess up your build or spend points on the wrong perks. You can open the main menu and choose to Respec all your skills. It will refund all your points so you can rebuild your character, but it costs diamonds to do it. Just be careful, because every time you reset your skills, the diamond cost permanently goes up by one.
