Description

Yo! What is up, Minecraft survival legends? Voxelbro is back, and today we need to have a serious talk about the state of horror in this game. Have you ever noticed that almost every single horror add-on or map out there relies on the exact same cheap tricks? It is always some ridiculous, badly modeled monster chasing you at the speed of light, combined with a deafening jump scare sound that just ruins your ears. That is not real horror.

That is just annoying. I got completely sick of playing survival horror mods that felt like cheap arcade games. I wanted something that actually messes with your head. I wanted that chilling feeling of paranoia when you are playing alone in your room at 3 AM and you feel like someone is watching your screen from the dark corner of your bedroom. That is exactly why I spent nights coding and designing "The Stalker". This is not just a monster mod. This is a complete psychological horror experience built directly into your vanilla survival world.

What Exactly Is The Stalker?

Listen to me very carefully before you install this pack. The Stalker is not a physical mob that you can just hit with a diamond sword and kill. You cannot outrun it, you cannot trap it in a boat, and you absolutely cannot fight it. It is a cursed presence that permanently attaches itself to your character the second you load into the world.

It watches how you play, it waits for you to make a mistake, and it strikes when you feel the most vulnerable. I designed this add-on to manipulate your senses and make you question your own sanity while playing. You will hear things that are not there. You will see things in the corner of your eye. Your safe, cozy survival world will slowly turn into a nightmare of paranoia.

The Stalker Radio (Your Only Lifeline)

The moment you spawn in, you will notice a strange new item in your inventory called the Stalker Radio. Do not try to throw it away into lava or drop it on the ground, because it is permanently bound to your soul. If you try to get rid of it, the curse just forces it right back into your inventory. This radio is your main command center.

Just use it in your hand, and a custom user interface will pop up on your screen. This menu tracks your absolute deepest fears. It shows you exactly how many times you have been jump-scared or targeted by the entity.

It also tracks the total number of in-game days you have managed to survive without losing your mind. I built a fully functional leaderboard system directly into this radio. So, if you are playing on a realm with your friends, you can instantly check who the ultimate survivor is and who is just hiding in their dirt hut all day.

The Deep Dark Paranoia (Y-Level 50)

Everybody knows that mining in Minecraft can get a bit boring after a while. Well, not anymore. I completely overhauled the atmosphere of the underground. Once you dig down below Y-level 50, you are entering The Stalker's domain.

The lower you go, the more the psychological manipulation kicks in. I programmed a highly dynamic background system that randomly triggers terrifying events while you are distracted. Imagine you are strip-mining for diamonds, and suddenly, you hear the distinct sound of stone footsteps right behind your character.

You spin around, and there is absolutely nothing there. If you stay in the dark too long, the entity will whisper directly into your ears, and your screen will be engulfed in pitch-black darkness. And if you are really unlucky? You will get hit with a blinding flash, a terrifying roar, and a massive text on your screen screaming "BEHIND YOU". I am not going to lie, I tested this feature myself in a dark room and it genuinely made my heart drop.

The Adrenaline Heartbeat System

To make the combat and survival aspect even more stressful, I implemented a custom health-tracking mechanic. We have all been in that situation where a creeper blows up behind us, or a skeleton snipes us into a ravine, leaving us on two or three hearts.

Normally, you just eat a steak and hide. But with The Stalker enabled, falling below four hearts triggers an absolute panic attack. A loud, heavy heartbeat sound will start pumping in your ears, matching the rhythm of your own actual heartbeat.

The sound gets incredibly immersive and blocks out the normal game audio, making it extremely difficult to focus on healing or escaping. It turns every single near-death experience into a sweaty, high-adrenaline survival scenario.

How To Actually Survive This Nightmare

I am not just going to drop this cursed add-on on you without giving you some pro tips. If you want to make it to the legendary 10-day survival milestone and get that glorious on-screen celebration, you need to change how you play Minecraft.

First rule: Never go into the caves alone without a massive supply of torches. The darkness is your worst enemy.

Second rule: Always keep your food bar totally full. The moment your health drops and that heartbeat kicks in, you are basically helpless.

Third rule: If you hear the footsteps behind you, do not panic and sprint into a lava pool. Just keep moving forward.

Fourth rule: Play with headphones. The spatial audio I coded into the whispers and the footsteps is designed to trick your brain. If you play on TV speakers, you are missing half the terror.

Multiplayer Chaos

While this add-on is completely terrifying in single-player, it becomes an absolute masterpiece of comedy and horror when you load it up on an SMP server with your friends. Because the psychological events target individual players randomly based on their depth and health, you will constantly experience moments where your friend is screaming their lungs out on Discord because their screen went blind, while you are standing right next to them seeing absolutely nothing. It makes everyone suspicious. It makes everyone paranoid. You will be huddled around a single campfire in the caves, terrified to mine a single block.

The Settings Menu (For The Weak)

Look, I understand that not everyone wants to have a panic attack while trying to build a nice little farmhouse. Some of you might find the constant paranoia just a bit too intense. That is exactly why I added a settings menu inside the Stalker Radio.

If things get way too heavy, you can open the radio and physically toggle the Stalker Mode off. I call it the coward switch. Turning it off disables all the psychological events, the heartbeats, and the deep cave scares, letting you play normally. But the radio will still track that you deactivated it, so everyone on your server will know you gave up.

Technical Setup

Just like all my major projects, this runs entirely on custom modern scripts. You absolutely need to go into your world settings and enable the Beta APIs experiment before loading this pack. If you forget to do that, the radio will not work, the UI will not open, and the entity will not haunt you. I optimized the background tracking to make sure it does not cause any lag on your multiplayer realms.
