Soul Forge - Weapon Progression

Awaken the true power of your arsenal! This behavior pack adds an RPG-style weapon progression system. Every kill made with a sword, axe, mace, or trident feeds souls to your weapon, leveling it up from 'Normal' to 'Mythic' with unique prefixes.

Description

today i am bringing you a really cool add-on that i was working on for a few weeks. So in vanilla minecraft combat is very basic you just hit things and they die. But what if your weapons actually leveled up with you and remembered you? That is why I made the Soul forge addon. This pack makes it so your swords and axes and even tridents actually consume the souls of the mobs you kill and they get much stronger and cooler. I really wanted to add a RPG feel to the game because playing regular survival gets boring when you already have diamond or netherite gear. Now you have a reason to keep fighting monsters every night.

 

 

 

​How it works

Every time you kill a mob using a melee weapon like a sword or axe or mace, your weapon will absorb its soul. It generates a unique soul ID for that specific weapon. So if you drop it or put it in a chest it keeps its progress. As you keep getting more kills the weapon will level up. It starts at Normal then goes to Sharp, Brave, Fierce, Soulbound, Ancient, Legendary and finally Mythic at 1000 kills. You will see the prefix change in the item name and the lore updates to show your exact kill count. It looks really professional when you look at the item details in your inventory.

 

​Oh and I also added a global event system here. Sometimes randomly the Soul Forge will awaken for 2 minutes and during this time you get double kill progress for your weapons! It announces in the chat for everyone so the whole server can go crazy killing mobs. Also to check your stats you just need to hold a normal Book and sneak. This opens the main UI menu where you can see all your weapons, your total kills, how many weapons you forged and tips. I also added a durability warning so if your weapon is about to break (like under 10 percent) it warns you with a sound so you dont lose your hard earned souls by breaking the weapon.

 

 

​Milestones and Rewards

The best part is the milestones I think. When your weapon reaches certain levels you actually get rewarded by the soul itself. Like at 100 kills when it becomes Soulbound it gives you 2 diamonds magically. At 250 kills you get netherite scrap. At 500 and 1000 kills you literally get netherite ingots because the soul power is so incredibly strong. There is also a resonance feature. While fighting there is a random chance your weapon will resonate and give you strength and speed buffs to help you survive tough fights. Higher level weapons have way more chance to resonate during combat.

 

​There are a lot of hidden easter eggs in this pack. Try renaming your weapon in an anvil to something famous like Excalibur or Frostmourne or Masamune. If you name it Excalibur you actually get bonus damage against undead mobs like zombies and skeletons. There is also some funny chat messages if you hit specific kill numbers like 69 or 404 or 666 but I will let you find those yourself.

 

 

​Beta APIs Setup

Because this pack uses dynamic properties to save the weapon souls per item and custom menus you absolutely must turn on the Beta APIs experiment in the world settings. If you dont turn it on the add-on will not load and the weapons will not track kills at all and nothing will work. So please make sure to check that before making a new world.
