What is up guys, Racing Raftaar back again with another massive behavior pack. Have you ever felt like killing mobs in Minecraft is a bit unrewarding? Sure, you get some XP and a few rotten flesh or bones, but it gets boring after a while. I wanted to add an RPG style element to survival mode, something that actually makes fighting monsters feel rewarding and powerful. So, I coded the Soul Collector behavior pack. This add-on completely changes how combat works by allowing you to extract the souls of the mobs you kill and use them to unlock permanent buffs, summon allies, and become the ultimate soul lord.
How to Collect Souls
The core mechanic of this pack is the soul collection system. Every time you kill a mob, there is a chance you will absorb its soul. I categorized the souls into three different types based on how hard the mob is to kill.
First, we have the Common Souls. These are dropped by your everyday mobs like Zombies, Skeletons, Spiders, Creepers, and Slimes. They have a 100% drop rate, so you will get them on almost every kill.
Then, we have the Rare Souls. These come from tougher enemies like Endermen, Blazes, Witches, Evokers, and Wither Skeletons. They have around a 60% chance to drop, so you might have to farm a bit to get them.
Finally, the Legendary Souls. These are incredibly rare and only drop from boss-level mobs like the Warden, the Wither, and the Ender Dragon. The drop chance is very low, between 15% to 25%, but getting one is a huge achievement and triggers a global announcement in the chat.
The Kill Streak System
I wanted to reward players who are really good at combat, so I added a kill streak system. If you kill multiple mobs without dying, your streak goes up. When you hit milestones like a 10, 25, or 50 kill streak, you will get a massive multiplier bonus, giving you double, triple, or even five times the amount of souls per kill. But be careful, if you die, your streak resets back to zero.
The Soul Menu
To manage all your collected souls, I built a custom UI menu. You do not need any special items to open it. All you have to do is hold an Ender Pearl, an Ender Eye, or a Book in your hand and sneak. This will instantly open the Soul Collector menu on your screen. From here, you can check your total souls, view your rank, and access all the other features like upgrading powers or fusing souls.
Unlocking Permanent Powers
This is where the souls become actually useful. You can spend your Common Souls in the powers menu to unlock permanent buffs for your character. There are six different powers you can upgrade: Soul Heart gives you a permanent health boost, Soul Strength increases your melee damage, Soul Speed makes you walk faster, Soul Shield reduces incoming damage, Soul Regen gives you constant health regeneration, and Soul Luck increases the drop rate of rare souls. Most of these powers have up to five tiers, so it gives you a great reason to keep hunting mobs.
Soul Fusion and Summoning
If you have too many Common Souls, you can use the Soul Fusion menu to convert them. You can fuse 10 Common Souls to create 1 Rare Soul, or 10 Rare Souls to create 1 Legendary Soul. It is a great way to get higher tier souls without fighting bosses.
You can also use your souls to summon mobs to fight for you. In the Summon Ally menu, you can spend souls to temporarily spawn friendly versions of mobs like Zombies, Blazes, or even Wither Skeletons. They will defend you for a short duration before despawning.
Beta APIs Setup
Because this pack uses advanced scripting for the UI menus, the kill tracking, and the custom entity spawning, you absolutely must turn on the Beta APIs experiment in your world settings. If you forget to enable Beta APIs before loading the world, the custom scripts in the main file will not run, and the add-on will not work at all.
