Description
Hey everyone! Are you tired of strip mining for hours just to find a bunch of gravel and zero diamonds? Strip mining is boring, and I wanted to create a high-tech solution to fix it.
I present the RR X-Ray Compass. This addon turns a regular vanilla compass into a high-tech scanner that shoots a visual laser beam pointing directly to the nearest ores in your world!
Main Features (Version 2.0.0)
I have built this addon with a ton of custom features to make your survival mining experience incredible:
- The Ore Selector: You can choose exactly what you want to find. The compass can track 9 different ores: Diamond, Ancient Debris (Netherite), Iron, Gold, Emerald, Lapis, Redstone, Copper, and Coal.
- Visual Laser & Color Particles: When the compass finds an ore, it draws a literal laser line of color-coded particles from your player straight to the block. You just have to follow the line!
- Smart Direction HUD: The screen will tell you exactly how many meters away the ore is, and if you need to dig UP, DOWN, or stay LEVEL to reach it.
- Adjustable Range: Don't want to scan too far? You can change the scanning range to 8, 16, or 24 blocks directly from the settings menu.
- In-Game Settings Menu: I added a clean UI menu. Just Sneak (Crouch) and hold a Book for 2 seconds to open the control panel and change your target ore or scan range on the fly.
Zero Lag Performance
I built this specifically with mobile players and lower-end devices in mind. X-Ray mods usually cause massive lag because they scan too many blocks at once, but not this one. The scanner only activates when you stand completely still. If you are running or walking, the scanner pauses to save your device's memory and battery. It is perfectly optimized for multiplayer Realms and 1GB/2GB RAM devices.
How to Use the X-Ray Compass
The process is incredibly simple and survival-friendly:
- Step 1: Craft or find a normal Compass.
- Step 2: Hold the Compass in your hand and stand completely still for a second.
- Step 3: The compass will scan the area. If it finds your target ore, a laser line will appear.
- Step 4: Follow the laser, check the distance on your screen, and dig straight to your loot!
- Step 5: To change what ore you are looking for, hold a Book, Sneak, and open the Settings Menu.

[ IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT ]
This addon relies on custom scripts to find blocks and draw the laser particles. You MUST go to your World Settings > Experiments tab, and turn on Beta APIs before loading the world. If you do not enable this, the compass will not scan anything!
