Description
Obe's ARPG Loot
Diablo-style loot for Minecraft Bedrock. Mobs drop unidentified weapons, armour and artifacts. Identify them to find out what you got: a level, one of five rarities, and random affixes that change how you fight. Upgrade your favourites and move legendary powers between them. Meanwhile the world grows more dangerous the longer you play: elites, rifts and tougher mobs push back, so you have to keep going out to find better gear.
The vanilla fight is never changed: swing, reach, knockback, crits and enchantments all work as they always do. Your gear only changes how hard a real hit lands, and what happens after it.
Loot
- Hostile mobs you kill drop Unidentified loot (30% of kills, more with Looting): about half weapons, a third armour, the rest artifacts.
- Five rarities: Common, Uncommon (1 affix), Rare (2), Epic (3) and Legendary (3 + a legendary power, with a golden look). The more dangerous the world, the better the odds.
- Elites and rifts drop Sealed loot. It keeps the world's level from when it dropped, so a player who has fallen behind catches up by fighting what the world throws at them.
- The first time you open a chest or barrel in a village, dungeon or other structure, it holds a bit of extra loot.
- Loot on the ground shows a beam in its rarity's colour.
Weapons
Thirteen weapon types, each with its own trait:
- Minecraft's own sword, axe, spear, mace and trident, which keep their vanilla moves (spear charge, mace smash, trident throw).
- Eight new types: knife (Backstab), rapier (Precision crits), katana (Bleed), scimitar (Ambush), battle axe (Rampage), battle hammer (Stagger), scythe (Reap, hits mobs beside the target) and greatsword (the most damage). Each comes in wood, stone, copper, iron, diamond and netherite.
Affixes such as Keen, Cruel, Holy, Sly, of Embers, of Frost, of the Leech, of Storms, of Cleaving, of Wisdom, of Fortune and of Mending. Legendary powers: Fifth Strike, Thunderous, Executioner's Due, Frenzy, Phoenix (survive a lethal hit) and Collector.
Item levels run from 1 to 100, and levels matter: a high-level hero one-shots ordinary mobs.
Armour and sets
- Vanilla helmets, chestplates, leggings and boots (leather to netherite) drop as ARPG armour with defensive affixes: Sturdy, Evasive (dodge), Stalwart, fire, blast, arrow and fall wards, of Thorns, of Vigour, of Swiftness.
- Fifteen named armour sets, four pieces each, with bonuses at 2 and 4 pieces. Each piece has its own 3D worn model: horns, crests, pauldrons, icicles, tabards.
- Each set drops only in its own kind of place: forests, swamps, oceans, snow and taiga, deserts, the deep dark, the Nether and the End. Hoarfrost freezes the mobs that hit you, Cinderplate makes you fireproof, the Drowned Bell lets you breathe underwater, and the Night Vigil hunts undead.
Artifacts (off hand)
Eight off-hand items with an active ability on a cooldown. Hold one in your off hand and sneak + jump to use it:
- Bulwark Charm: Resistance II.
- Blast Core: a blast around you.
- War Horn: more damage for a while.
- Totem of Renewal: Regeneration II.
- Storm Rod: lightning on the three nearest foes.
- Gale Fan: blows foes away.
- Ghost Cloak: a dash, untouchable for a moment.
- Frost Shard: slows and freezes foes.
Artifacts roll passive affixes of their own: Lucky (better drops), Fierce, Keen-eyed, Fleet, Thirsting, Quickening (shorter cooldowns), of Scholars, of Respite and of the Lodestone (pulls in drops). A Legendary artifact is Swift (a much shorter cooldown) or Twin (two charges).
Three blocks
- Appraisal Table: identify loot (one or all at once), re-roll an affix's value, replace an affix (choose between two new ones or keep the old one), salvage gear into Essence, rename it.
- Masterwork Anvil: upgrade an item's level, repair it with Essence, extract a Legendary's power into an Aspect, and imprint an Aspect onto a Rare, Epic or Legendary weapon.
- Recall Shrine: return to where you last died, once per death, for Essence. Died in lava or the void? It takes you to your last safe ground instead.
Every action shows its cost (XP levels and Essence) before you pay.
A world that fights back
- World threat rises from 1 to 100 as you play (time with players online, not the in-game day count) and is announced in chat.
- Elites: Champions and Elites with affixes such as Searing, Vampiric, Shielded, Blinking, Summoner, Volatile, Leaping and Mortar. They warn before their abilities, are tougher and hit harder, and drop Sealed loot. More of them at higher threat, and even more on full moon nights.
- Rifts: ruined shrines in the Overworld, the Nether and the End. Wake the rift, beat three waves (the last with an Elite), and it drops Sealed loot. It reopens a few days later.
- A few more hostile mobs spawn in the dark, and ordinary mobs hit harder as the threat rises.
Made to feel good
- Damage numbers over the mobs you hit (gold for crits).
- A health frame at the top of the screen for the mob you're fighting, with its elite affixes.
- Sounds for crits, kills and rare drops, and a short reveal when you identify an item.
Settings
Type /arpg, or use the Settings button on either block, to turn damage numbers, the health frame and loot beams on or off for yourself. Operators also get the world settings: how fast the threat rises and its cap, extra spawns, rifts, harder vanilla mobs, and a threat reset.
Crafting
- Appraisal Table: an amethyst shard over book, planks, book, with a log in each bottom corner.
- Masterwork Anvil: gold ingot, diamond, gold ingot over an anvil over three iron ingots.
- Recall Shrine: an ender pearl over amethyst shard, lodestone, amethyst shard, over three crying obsidian.
Good to know
- Works in single player, on Realms and on dedicated servers. You don't need to turn on any experiments.
- Works on touch screens, controllers and keyboard; artifacts use sneak + jump so they work the same everywhere.
- Plain vanilla weapons and armour you already have stay as they are. Only loot you identify is ARPG gear.
- No vanilla mob, loot table or spawn files are replaced, so it gets along with other add-ons. Works alongside our Wayfinder and Realism add-ons: their HUDs and the health frame share the screen.
Requirements
- Minecraft Bedrock 1.26.50 or newer.
