Description

MoreOres — v4.0

This addon expands Minecraft progression with new ores, equipment tiers, unique abilities, and upgrade systems.

Compatible with Minecraft 1.21.100+
API Version: 2.1.0

⛏ INTRODUCTION

MoreOres adds seven brand-new materials to Minecraft Bedrock — Cobalt, Jade, Ruby, Sapphire, Titanium, Topaz, and the secret end-game material, Celestium — each with its own ore, storage block, full 10-piece tool & weapon kit, armor set, world generation, and a passive effect that makes it feel genuinely different to use, not just a reskinned stat stick.

On top of the new materials, MoreOres adds over 100 new items in total, including a fully custom Equipment Upgrade Table, a magnetism-based Magnet tool, quality-of-life smelting recipes for vanilla raw blocks, extra Emerald generation, and an entirely optional integration with Meritum Engine for players who also use it.

Overview

  • 7 ores, each with unique world generation
  • 7 equipment tiers (70 items) with distinct stats and passive effects
  • A new weapon type on every tier: the Spear
  • Custom Equipment Upgrade Table with an extensible upgrade system
  • The Magnet, a toggleable loot/XP magnetism tool
  • Celestium: an End-exclusive, post-Netherite tier with a full-set bonus
  • Small vanilla quality-of-life reinforcements (see Vanilla Enhancements below)
  • Optional Meritum Engine integration (23 achievements)
  • 10 languages fully translated

Progression: Stone tools → Jade / Topaz → Cobalt → Sapphire / Ruby → Titanium → Celestium

⛏ ORES

Ore Dimension Variants Height (Y) Vein Size Attempts/Chunk Minimum Pickaxe
Jade Overworld Stone / Deepslate −64 to 40 6 10 Stone
Topaz Overworld Stone / Deepslate −64 to 32 4* 9 Stone
Cobalt Overworld Stone / Deepslate −64 to 16 8 10 Iron
Sapphire Overworld Stone / Deepslate −64 to 16 4* 6 Iron
Ruby Overworld / Nether Stone / Deepslate / Netherrack −64 to 16 / 15 to 64 4* / 4 6 / 12 Iron
Titanium Overworld Stone / Deepslate −64 to 8 4* 6 Diamond
Stardust (End) The End End Stone 0 to 32 3 12 Diamond
Experience-Infused Stone Overworld Stone / Deepslate −20 to 32 4* 8 Iron

* 50% chance of being discarded if exposed to air on generation (does not apply to Jade or Cobalt).

Ore Loot System

  • Without Silk Touch: drops the gem / raw material directly.
  • With Silk Touch: drops the ore block itself instead (vanilla Silk Touch always drops the block, bypassing the addon's custom loot — this is intentional, avoiding duplicating both the block and the gem). Every ore block, including Deepslate and Nether variants, can be smelted afterward to obtain the normal gem/ingot.
  • Fortune: applies a random quantity bonus, following vanilla-style logic.
  • XP: granted on break where configured, as physical XP orbs.

MoreOres also boosts vanilla Emerald generation in the Overworld (Y 70–256) as a bonus, independent of the addon's own content.

🛡️ EQUIPMENT

Jade

Sword Damage 6 Mining Speed 6
Durability 520 Total Armor 17
Enchantability 15 Minimum Pickaxe Stone

Effects: Armor grants Saturation III for a brief moment roughly every 10 minutes per piece (very rare, long-cooldown passive), with a small particle burst. Tools grant a short Regeneration pulse when breaking blocks.

Topaz

Sword Damage 7 Mining Speed 6
Durability 810 Total Armor 18
Enchantability 15 Minimum Pickaxe Stone

Effects: Armor grants Fire Resistance periodically (scaling up to ~1s per pulse with the full set, roughly every 2s). Tools grant a short Haste burst when breaking blocks.

Cobalt

Sword Damage 6 Mining Speed 7
Durability 750 Total Armor 18
Enchantability 15 Minimum Pickaxe Iron

Effects: Armor pulls nearby items and XP orbs toward you constantly, with strength scaling per piece worn. Tools pull loot toward the block you just broke.

Sapphire

Sword Damage 7 Mining Speed 7
Durability 1250 Total Armor 20
Enchantability 20 Minimum Pickaxe Diamond

Effects: Armor grants Resistance periodically (up to ~1s per pulse with the full set, roughly every 2s). Sapphire's whole kit uses enchantability 20 — a deliberate middle ground between the other tiers (15) and vanilla Netherite (25), fitting since Sapphire is the material used in the Titanium upgrade path.

Ruby

Sword Damage 7 Mining Speed 8
Durability 1381 Total Armor 20
Enchantability 15 Minimum Pickaxe Diamond

Effects: Armor grants Strength periodically (up to ~0.8s per pulse with the full set, roughly every 1.6s). The Ruby Sword deals bonus fire damage on critical (falling) hits. Ruby is also the only gem found in two dimensions, generating in both the Overworld and the Nether.

Titanium

Sword Damage 8 Mining Speed 10
Durability 1978 Total Armor 24
Enchantability 15 Minimum Pickaxe Netherite

Effects: Armor grants a stronger Resistance pulse than Sapphire's, roughly every 2s. Titanium matches vanilla Netherite's damage and mines noticeably faster, making it a genuine sidegrade rather than a straight upgrade.

Celestium ⭐

Sword Damage 16 Mining Speed 12
Durability 2750 Total Armor 32
Enchantability 15 Minimum Pickaxe None — mines anything a pickaxe can

Celestium isn't mined — it's forged. Gather Stardust from the End Stardust Ore (found only in The End) and Ender Essence from Endermen, then upgrade a full Netherite kit at the Equipment Upgrade Table. Celestium items resist fire/lava like Netherite and are immune to void damage, teleporting back to a safe layer if they ever fall out of the world.

Per-piece armor effects

  • Helmet: +1 max-health tier, immunity to Blindness, Darkness and Nausea.
  • Chestplate: +1 max-health tier, immunity to Poison, Fatal Poison, Wither, Hunger, Mining Fatigue and Weakness.
  • Leggings: +1 max-health tier, immunity to Levitation and Slowness.
  • Boots: +1 max-health tier, immunity to Slowness, automatic Soul Speed on Soul Sand, and automatic Slow Falling when the game detects a long fall over open air below you.

Celestium Sword

Rolls one of three effects on every hit: a ~20% chance to deal random armor-piercing void damage (up to 9), a ~20% chance to launch the target 5–15 blocks upward, or a ~60% chance to apply Slowness III for 3 seconds.

Full Set Bonus (all 4 pieces)

  • Passive magnetism for nearby loot and XP (3-block radius)
  • End-themed particle effects above the player
  • Automatic rescue if you ever fall into the void
  • Permanent Resistance II, Regeneration III, and Strength I for as long as the set stays on
  • A full extra heart bar (+20 max HP) — the health bonus intentionally jumps straight to this tier with the complete set, rather than scaling linearly piece by piece, so the full set always delivers exactly one whole extra heart row

Comparative Stats Table

Material Sword Damage Mining Speed Durability Total Armor Enchantability
Jade 6 6 520 17 15
Topaz 7 6 810 18 15
Cobalt 6 7 750 18 15
Sapphire 7 7 1250 20 20
Ruby 7 8 1381 20 15
Titanium 8 10 1978 24 15
Celestium 16 12 2750 32 15
Netherite (vanilla, for reference) 8 2031 20 15

🧲 UTILITIES & SYSTEMS

The Magnet

Activation Right-click / interact to toggle on or off
Range Pulls dropped items and XP orbs within a 6-block radius while active
Location Works from anywhere in your inventory — doesn't need to be held
Persistence Its on/off state is saved directly on the item, so it survives being stored, traded, or moved between inventories
Recipe 1x Cobalt Ingot + 2x Iron Ingot + 1x Redstone

The Equipment Upgrade Table

A fully custom block with its own multi-step interface: pick an available upgrade, choose which specific item from your inventory to upgrade (durability shown for each), and confirm. The result keeps your item's custom name, lore, enchantments, and proportional durability — nothing is lost in the upgrade. It's crafted from a Netherite Ingot, a custom Netherite Nugget, a Smithing Table, and Stone, and has its own 3D model and placement orientation.

Upgrade Base Result Template Extra Ingredients
1 Diamond (vanilla) Netherite (vanilla) Netherite Upgrade Template 1x Netherite Ingot
2 Sapphire Titanium Titanium Upgrade Template 2x Titanium Ingot + 2x Iron Ingot
3 Netherite (vanilla) Celestium Celestium Upgrade Template 2x Celestium Ingot + 4x Ender Essence

Titanium Upgrade Template

Celestium Upgrade Template

Where to find the templates

Template Source Chance per chest opened
Titanium Upgrade Smithing Template Abandoned Mineshaft ≈ 11.10%
Titanium Upgrade Smithing Template Simple Dungeon ≈ 13.62%
Titanium Upgrade Smithing Template Buried Treasure ≈ 14.41% (varies 8.80%–19.83% depending on how many rolls that chest gets)
Celestium Upgrade Smithing Template End City Treasure — exclusive source ≈ 5.88%
  • Titanium Upgrade Template is duplicable at a crafting table: 1 template + 8x Sapphire → 2 templates.
  • Celestium Upgrade Template is duplicable at a crafting table: 1 template + 8x Stardust + 1x Netherite Ingot → 2 templates.

Percentages are the exact odds of that template appearing at least once, calculated directly from each loot pool's item weights and roll counts, and reflect the current version — they can shift if the loot tables are rebalanced in a future update.

Extensible by design: other addons can register new upgrade paths via script events (moreOres:smithing_template.register and moreOres:smithing_template.add_map).

📋 GENERAL

Vanilla Enhancements

MoreOres also quietly reinforces a few vanilla mechanics, independent of its own content:

  • Raw Copper, Gold, and Iron blocks can now be smelted directly into their block form.
  • Rotten Flesh can be smelted into Leather.
  • A second world generation rule boosts vanilla Emerald spawns in the Overworld.
  • Vanilla Netherite armor gains bonus Fire Resistance and Resistance while worn.
  • All MoreOres armor is compatible with vanilla Armor Trims and the vanilla Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template.

Loot & Structure Compatibility

MoreOres blends into existing vanilla structure loot instead of adding new structures of its own:

Structure Loot File Added Items
Abandoned Mineshaft abandoned_mineshaft.json Titanium Upgrade Smithing Template
Simple Dungeon simple_dungeon.json Titanium Upgrade Smithing Template
Buried Treasure buriedtreasure.json Titanium Ingot, Jade, Ruby, Sapphire, Topaz, Titanium Upgrade Smithing Template
Shipwreck Treasure shipwrecktreasure.json Jade, Ruby, Sapphire, Titanium Nugget
End City Treasure end_city_treasure.json Stardust, Jade, Ruby, Sapphire, Celestium Upgrade Smithing Template

⚠️ Minecraft Bedrock only loads one version of each loot table file at a time. If another addon also modifies one of the files above, only one of the two modifications will actually apply. To avoid conflicts: place MoreOres higher in your Behavior Pack stacking order, or merge the loot tables manually if combining multiple addons that touch the same structures. This is a limitation of Minecraft's loot table system, not a bug in the addon.

Installation

  1. Download both the Behavior Pack and the Resource Pack — both are required, the Behavior Pack depends directly on the Resource Pack.
  2. Apply both packs to your world.

Requirements

Minecraft 1.21.100+
Behavior Pack Engine 1.21.100
Resource Pack Engine 1.21.100
Script API @minecraft/server 2.1.0
Server UI @minecraft/server-ui 2.0.0

Dependencies

  • ✅ MoreOres [Res] — required, linked by UUID.
  • ⭕ Meritum Engine — optional, achievements only. See below.
  • ⭕ Other Athan213 addons with compatible equipment — optional, auto-recognized if installed.

Important Warnings

  • This project is under active development; balancing values and behavior may change between versions.
  • All balancing values (damage, durability, effect timers, etc.) are fixed in the addon's files — there is currently no external configuration file.

🏆 OPTIONAL INTEGRATION — MERITUM ENGINE

This section is entirely separate from the rest of the description above. It only applies if you also use Meritum Engine.

This integration is 100% optional

MoreOres works perfectly on its own. Its 23 built-in achievements exist internally regardless of what else you have installed. Meritum Engine is never required to play MoreOres, and installing MoreOres never forces Meritum Engine to be added to your world.

What changes if you also use Meritum Engine

If a world also has Meritum Engine installed, MoreOres automatically registers all 23 of its achievements into the engine the moment the world loads — no setup, no configuration, nothing to enable. From that point on, your MoreOres achievements gain everything Meritum Engine provides:

  • A unified achievements menu alongside achievements from any other Meritum-compatible addon.
  • Formatted unlock notifications with rarity-based sounds.
  • Persistent progress tracking (including partial progress on multi-step achievements).
  • Sorting, searching, and filtering tools (by rarity, unlock status, name).
  • Access to Meritum Engine's admin commands (/achgive, /achrevoke, /achreset) for MoreOres achievements specifically.

How to use it

  1. Install Meritum Engine alongside MoreOres, in the same world.
  2. Load the world once. MoreOres will send its achievement list to the engine automatically.
  3. Open Meritum Engine's achievements menu (/achmenu) — your MoreOres achievements will already be listed there.

There is nothing to configure on the MoreOres side. If you ever remove Meritum Engine, MoreOres continues working exactly as before — nothing breaks, and no achievement data from MoreOres itself is lost, since MoreOres never depends on the engine to function.

Without Meritum Engine installed

Everything about MoreOres works exactly the same: mining, crafting, the Equipment Upgrade Table, the Magnet, world generation, passive effects, the Celestium set bonus — all of it. The only difference is that the 23 achievements won't be visible through a dedicated achievements menu, since that menu is a Meritum Engine feature. No content, mechanic, or item from MoreOres is gated behind Meritum Engine in any way.

Get Meritum Engine on its own project page if you'd like the full achievements experience across all of Athan213's compatible addons.
