Fortunate Debris

Make Fortune work on ancient debris — with support for custom pickaxes too.

Mine naturally generated ancient debris with a Fortune-enchanted diamond, netherite, or supported custom pickaxe for a chance to receive extra debris. Fortunate Debris uses Minecraft’s standard single-drop ore Fortune formula, keeping the rewards familiar and balanced.

Custom pickaxe support

Fortunate Debris recognizes compatible tools by their item tags. Supported pickaxes include:

• Vanilla diamond and netherite pickaxes
• Custom pickaxes with the standard diamond or netherite tier tags
• More Tools Addon: pickaxes tagged as strong pickaxes
• More Ores Official: diamond- and netherite-tier pickaxes
• MoreOres v4: Ruby, Sapphire, Titanium, and Celestium pickaxes

Lower-tier tools do not qualify. Other add-ons using the supported tags can work automatically, while tools with different tags may need a compatibility rule.

Custom pickaxe support has been tested in-game by the maintainer.

Achievement-friendly

Designed for Survival worlds with achievements enabled:

• No cheats required
• No experimental toggles required
• Uses only the stable Script API — no beta or preview features
• Does not change world settings

Enable the behavior pack in your Survival world and start mining.

Drop rates

Fortune gives a chance of extra drops; it does not guarantee a bonus on every block. These totals assume the normal base drop of one ancient debris.

Fair by design

• Uses vanilla-style Fortune probabilities
• Only naturally generated ancient debris earns bonus drops
• Player-placed debris is tracked persistently and never earns a bonus
• Piston-moved debris also earns no bonus, preventing duplication loops
• Adds no bonus in Creative mode or when Silk Touch is present
• Respects the doTileDrops game rule

Compatibility

• Adds only the bonus items; does not replace or modify vanilla loot tables
• Behavior pack only — no resource pack needed
• Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.100+
• Requires the standard Fortune enchantment on a supported tool

Support applies to normal player block breaks. Extra blocks broken by another add-on’s scripted area or vein-mining ability may not receive the bonus. Other loot-modifying add-ons can change the final total drops.

Installation

Open Fortunate-Debris-v1.3.0.mcaddon, then enable Fortunate Debris under Behavior Packs in your world settings.

Install the pack on the world or server; joining players do not need to install it separately.
