Description

Forerunner is a survival addition type of modification that features highly immersive and low-fantasy grounded craftsmanship and blacksmithing that makes crafting equipment go through realistic processes that are simplified and stylized to fit the game's aspects.

Why is it called Forerunner?

• It is called Forerunner because the player is constantly on the run for its next progress, the player itself is giving light to its own future. It is either the forerunner faces the cruel reality by pushing through it or staying in the depths of inevitability to advance and be forever with the earliest.

Main Features:

Leather-Handled Tools — Every tool above wooden and below netherite tiers are now needed to be crafted with a leather handle. Based on real life's Handle Wrapping process where it makes tools have shock absorption, makes it comfortable, and improves the grip of the wielder.

Diamond Sintering — Diamonds now need to be crafted to an ingot version, quadrupling its progression. In real life, this is called Sintering—It is a process of compacting and forming a solid mass of material by heat or pressure without melting it to the point of liquefaction.

Tempered Metals — Diamond, golden, copper, and iron ingots now needs to be heated with a blast furnace and a furnace (iron-exclusive). In real life, this is called Tempering—which in the add-on's terms, since Tempering increases the material's toughness in real life, here makes it stronger to bind more with other materials.

Armor Riveting — The major feature. All armors (excluding chainmail) are now needed to be crafted with historically-accurate armor subpieces to craft a complete vanilla armor piece. In real life, this is called Riveting and Armoring, a permanent mechanical fastening process that joins two or more materials by deforming a special fastener to create a secure, physical lock. This includes the following:

- Frontguard (Helmet)

- Overguard (Helmet, Diamond Exclusive for the Unique Netherite Helmet's Face)

- Buccalplate (Helmet)

- Skullplate (Helmet)

- Rearplate (Helmet)

- Pauldrons (Chestplate)

- Sideplate (Chestplate)

- Backplate (Chestplate)

- Frontplate (Chestplate)

- Waistplate (Leggings)

- Cuiss (Leggings)

- Poleyn (Leggings)

- Greave (Leggings and Boots)

- Sabaton (Boots)

Arms and Defensive Equipment Assembling - Crossbows, shields, and bows now have their own assembling pieces. Based on the main feature: "Armor Riveting". In real life, this is called Assembling, a process of putting together pre-made components or sub-assemblies to create a complete, functional result.

- Crossbow Stock

- Crossbow Trigger

- Crossbow Limbs

- Firing Assembly (Crossbow)

- Bow Frame

- Bow Stringlock

- Iron Arrowshelf (Bow)

- Shield Rim

- Shield Grip

Concepture — A major feature alongside Armor Riveting. All tools and armor pieces now need a specific blueprint, diagram, or schematic to craft them. In real life, this is called Pattern Drafting, where a template serves as a precise guide for cutting material to assemble a three-dimensional object.

• Blueprints are used only for stone tiered equipment, has all of the equipment and armor types of sketches.

• Diagrams are used only for the copper tier, which requires blueprints.

— There are two types of diagram: equipment diagram and armor diagram.
» Equipment diagrams are used for tools while Armor diagrams are used for armor pieces.

• Schematics are similar to the blueprint and diagram features, this instead implements an all-in-one item that includes all equipment and armor concepts.

— There are two types: low schematic, high schematic.
» A low schematic is used in the tiers: iron, gold, and diamond. A high schematic is used only with the tier, netherite. Requires diagrams and blueprints. A metallical upgrade is a successor to the netherite upgrade smithing template, it was made by cladding the netherite upgrade smithing template with tempered iron ingots and few more other recipes. A high schematic can be combined with a metallical upgrade, which makes a metal schema-upgrade; this is now the replacement of the old netherite upgrade smithing template when upgrading diamond armor and equipment to netherite.

Guide:

#1: Gather Wood, Craft Planks, Crafting Table, and Wooden Tools.

#2: Kill Cows and Get its Leather.

#3: Wait for night time.

#4: During night, kill spiders for string to finally craft a Leather Handle, the core for all early-tier tools.

#5: Gather clay balls using your wooden shovel.

#6: Craft them into Clay Blocks, used later for various template-adjacent materials.

#7: Find and obtain sugarcanes to make papers.

#8: Finally craft an Empty Blueprint — your first Concepture item.

#9: Craft wanted Blueprints (stone-tier tool and armor concepts).

#10: Mine and get sufficient Cobblestones for a set of stone tools and a furnace.

#11: With the Blueprint, Leather Handle, Sticks, and the Cobblestones, craft your wanted Stone Tools.

#12: With your stone tools, find and obtain tons of raw copper for your next tier upgrade.

#13: Smelt the raw coppers and temper it.

#14: Before crafting, upgrade the Blueprints into Equipment Diagrams or Armor Diagrams.

#15: Finally craft Copper-tiered armor and equipment.

#16: With the copper armor and equipment, dive deep into the caverns and yearn for iron ores using the newly crafted tiered equipment.

#17: Smelt the Raw Iron into Iron Ingots.

#18: With your furnace, Temper the Iron Ingots again to strengthen them for future binding.

#19: Before iron equipment is possible, craft Low Schematics by upgrading your Equipment Diagrams and Armor Diagrams along with other miscellaneous ingredients .

#20: Smelt and temper the iron.

#21: Using the low schematics, craft armor sub-equipment pieces sufficient for an iron set.

#22: Craft the full armor using all Riveted Sub-Pieces via the Armor Riveting system.

#23: Yearn for Diamonds.

#24: Craft a Diamond Ingot through Sintering, and Temper it afterward.

#25: Finally craft Diamond-tier tool & armor pieces by using Low Schematics.

#26: Prepare and dive deep into the Nether to mine sufficient amounts of Ancient Debris, craft them into Netherite Ingots afterward.

#27: Find a bastion that contains a Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template and get the remaining loot.

#28: Upgrade your Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template with Tempered Iron and refined materials to create a Metallical Upgrade.

#29: Combine your High Schematic with the Metallical Upgrade to form the Metal Schema-Upgrade, the new replacement for the old Netherite upgrade process.

#30: You have completed the forerunner guide!
