Expansive Inventory

A universal multi-tab bag, 9-layer hotbar rotator (72 slots), smart auto-pickup, and real-time total item scanner for Minecraft Bedrock Edition (1.21+). Built on a 100% original modular JavaScript codebase with clean pixel-art icons, zero vanilla UI screen overrides, and zero texture pack conflicts.

Important: no experimental toggles are required to use this addon. However, due to a recent Minecraft update, any behavior pack installed from outside the official Marketplace disables Xbox Achievements/Trophies in that world, regardless of experimental toggles. This addon is NOT achievement friendly. If keeping achievements matters to you or your players, keep this in mind before installing.

Key Features

Infinite Multi-Tab Bag

• Expands the standard 27-slot player bag into virtually unlimited pages/tabs (Tab #1, Tab #2, Tab #3, and so on).
• Seamless in-inventory navigation buttons: [<] Previous Tab (slot 9), [Menu] Expansive Menu (slot 13), [>] Next Tab (slot 17).
• 100% lossless NBT storage: custom-named items, anviled tools, enchanted armor, written books, banner patterns, damaged gear, and potions are preserved with zero data degradation.

9-Layer Hotbar Rotator (Up to 72 Active Slots)

• 9 distinct hotbar bars (9 layers x 8 slots = 72 quick-access slots) accessible without opening your inventory.
• Managed via the Hotbar Dial in slot 8 (bottom-right hotbar slot): right-click/tap-and-hold to cycle to the next layer, sneak + right-click or swing in the air to cycle back.
• Set up Layer 1 for combat, Layer 2 for mining, Layer 3 for building, Layer 4 for farming, and so on.

Real-Time Total Item Scanner

• Instantly tallies all assets across every tab and hotbar layer.
• Open the Expansive Menu and use Total Items Scan to see totals per item (e.g. "Diamond: 1,300x, found in 4 tabs").
• Click any item to inspect its per-tab breakdown, then use the Jump to Tab shortcut to switch your active inventory straight to that tab.

Smart Auto-Pickup System

• Mining or chopping with a full main inventory? Items on the ground won't get left behind.
• Nearby dropped items (within 4 blocks) are automatically detected and routed into background tabs with matching stacks or free slots.
• Shows a subtle actionbar notification when items are routed to background storage, toggleable at any time in settings.

100% Zero-Conflict UI Compatibility

• Does not modify inventory_screen.json or any vanilla JSON UI templates.
• Fully compatible with custom PvP texture packs, dark mode UIs, custom HUDs, and shaders.

Game Modes (Subpack Slider)

Choose your progression style directly in world settings before playing:

To change mode: World Settings > Behavior Packs > click Expansive Inventory > click the gear icon > slide between Full Access and Progressive Challenge.

Controls & How to Use

In-Inventory Navigation (open with E on keyboard, the inventory button on touch, or Y/X on controller):

• Slot 9: go to the previous page.
• Slot 13: open the Expansive Menu (click once, then close inventory).
• Slot 17: go to the next page.
• Slot 8: cycle the hotbar layer immediately.

In-Game Hotbar Controls with the Hotbar Dial selected:

• Right-click/long-press: rotate to the next hotbar layer.
• Sneak + right-click, or swing in the air: rotate back to the previous layer.

Interactive Menu & Settings

• Quick Jump to Tab: enter any tab number to teleport instantly without clicking through every page.
• View All Tabs: capacity overview (Empty, In Use, or Full 24/24).
• Total Items Scan: aggregates quantities across the entire bag with 1-click tab jumping.
• Add/Unlock Tab: expand storage (free in Full Access, 5 EXP in Progressive).
• Preferences & Settings: Smart Auto-Pickup toggle, UI button sounds toggle, and Pocket Mode (relocates navigation buttons to the bottom inventory row for touch layouts).

Installation

1. Download ExpansiveInventory.mcaddon and open/double-click it to import both packs into Minecraft.
2. Activate Expansive Inventory BP under Behavior Packs, and Expansive Inventory RP under Resource Packs.
3. No experimental toggles required. Note: achievements will still be disabled in this world since this is a non-Marketplace behavior pack.
4. Launch your world and enjoy unlimited storage.

Technical Architecture & Safety

• Lossless NBT Persistence: uses Minecraft's native world.structureManager with a temporary 128-slot container entity. Unlike raw JSON serializers that strip enchantment components, banner layers, potion tags, and custom lore, this engine stores full native NBT data.
• Atomic Anti-Dupe Rollback: tab and hotbar transfers are queued atomically. If a transfer fails or a player disconnects mid-cycle, the transaction safely rolls back to its previous state.
• Drop Protection: item drop events and cursor drag actions are strictly isolated from hotbar rotation triggers to prevent accidental layer shifting.

Compatibility

• Does not modify inventory_screen.json, safe alongside custom UI texture packs, dark mode UIs, custom HUDs, and shaders.
• No experimental toggles required, though achievements are still disabled in this world since it's a non-Marketplace behavior pack.
• Navigation control items and stored items persist safely across death via keepOnDeath properties and world-database storage.
