Defensive Trees

A project that started as two trees to defend against mobs, but then it grew out of hand into many fun, funny and useful trees. These trees kill mobs, feed livestock, breed cows, process and cook cows/chickens and etc. Some store xp and loot!

Description

🌳 DEFENSIVE TREES: Your forest fights back! 🌳(All tree capitators work with these trees!)

Achievements Friendly!!

14 current Trees and 2 to come!  Look at the media files and see the page with each of the two new trees! Yes a spoiler... :D

Creepers wrecking your walls? Zombies moaning at your door all night? Endermen stealing your dirt, one block at a time? It's time your trees stopped standing around looking leafy and started earning their keep.

Defensive Trees turns saplings into a grove of bark-covered bodyguards, 14 of them, each with its own personality and its own favorite way to ruin a mob's day. They're loyal to the core. Tree attacks never hurt players, and every grown tree protects the ground around it. Explosions can't break a block there, and fire just fizzles out. Your builds stay pristine while the mobs go flying.

🌲 THE OVERWORLD GROVE

🐺 Wolf Tree: growls at anything hostile, then sends out pairs of snowy wolves that charge in and go BOOM, with zero damage to your blocks. Spiders and sneaky illagers may get hunted down and bitten instead. It's a very good boy with a very short fuse.

🐱 Cat Tree: creepers are terrified of cats, and this tree knows it. A trusting ocelot pops out right next to any creeper and chases it off your lawn. Everything else just gets shoved away with a hiss.

🦊 Fox Tree: zombies, skeletons, drowned, phantoms, if it's undead, a pair of foxes hunts it down and moves on to the next one. It drops bones and bone meal too, because foxes are tidy like that.

πŸš€ Rocket Tree: firework-paper bark! Endermen that wander close get yanked to the trunk, renamed "Grounded," and blasted with fireworks until they learn some manners. Teleporting away doesn't help, it just yanks them back. It even works in the End.

πŸ– Hunter Tree: camo bark and blaze-orange leaves. It hunts your farm animals with a bow and sets them on fire first, so the drops come out already cooked. Once in a while it misses and the animal ends up wearing a "Dang it!" name tag. Sneak and use a stick to switch hunting season off, on (it always leaves 2 of each animal), or open season (nothing's safe). Babies, pets, named and leashed animals are always safe.

🚢 Wandering Ent Tree: a tall mossy tree with a live-in guardian. When it grows, a walking Ent steps out, bonds with you, and patrols its home, follows you around, or stays put. It stomps mobs it runs into and slams the ground to knock back anything nearby. If it ever falls, a new Ent grows back from its tree.

πŸ’¨ Toot Tree: it... toots. A big green cloud gives mobs nausea, slowness and weakness, defuses creepers so they fizzle instead of exploding, and absolutely wrecks phantoms. You can even bottle a toot and throw it. Stand upwind.

πŸŽƒ Pranky Pumpkin Tree: it plants a Pranky Decoy that mobs can't resist attacking, then POP! Confetti and pain. Zombies and skeletons may walk away wearing a pumpkin on their heads, stumbling around confused. Endermen can't teleport out of the joke either.

πŸ„ Feeder Breeder Tree: hangs juicy Feeder Fruit that calls your farm animals over for a snack and breeds them for you. Pick the fruit yourself and feed it to your animals too. It even grows babies up fast.  Whoa! A thorny fruit thrown at a skeleton a day keeps the skeleton away!

🌴 Coconut Palm: grows wild on beaches in curvy, leaning, twin-trunked tropical style. Knock down coconuts, and yes, you can actually climb the trunk.  OMG, did that coconut just kill a zombie?

πŸ“¦ Hollow Oak: a tree with a secret stash. Tap the trunk to open a hidden chest, and it vacuums up stray items lying around. It's the tidiest tree you'll ever own.

✨ XP Willow: the tree that saves your levels. a piggy bank made of glowing vines. Store your XP, watch the vines glow brighter as it fills, and let it repair your Mending gear. XP from your trees' fights flows straight into it, and its vines lash out at mobs that get too close.

πŸ”₯ THE NETHER GROVE

πŸ— Hoglin Tree: picks fights with piglins, brutes, wither skeletons and zoglins by summoning guard hoglins to charge them. Its guards never touch you.

πŸ”₯ Blaze Rod Tree: glowing logs that light up the Nether. Wither skeletons get dragged in, spun around, renamed "Extra Crispy," and blasted. Sometimes all that's left is a bone and a bowl. It's soup now.

🌱 HOW YOU GET THEM

Your first sapling is an adventure. Watch for the Grove Keeper, a mossy old tree-spirit who wanders in and trades saplings for oddly specific offerings. (Yes, he really wants that pufferfish.) Fight mobs at night for glowing Wild Seed Pods, plant one, and you won't know what tree you got until it sprouts. Do the Keeper's quest to become a Friend of the Grove and unlock better deals.

Then try The Door Trick: build a minimum 5x5 structure completed when you place a door, and up to five surprise defensive trees may sprout around your new home. If it isn't a square or rectangle, you get nada.

Need a tree gone? Sneak with flint and steel for the Burn Baby Burn menu. Or close it and hear, "There will be no burning today!"

A built-in guidebook explains every tree, so you're never stumped.

Plant it. Grow it. Watch the mobs run. 🌲πŸ’₯

Experiments: none needed. It only uses the stable scripting API and no experimental features, so it works on Bedrock 1.26.50 or newer with every experiment toggle off.

I am going to replace the grove keeper and the Ent from the wandering tree... :D
