Description

The villagers dance all the time. This addon adds an unusual village that you can find in the Mono Forest biome.

The Dancing Village spawns randomly in the Mono Forest biome (a new biome added).

When you enter this village, you may be affected and start enjoying the vibe and dancing all the time.

There will be a UI indicator that shows how affected you are. If the indicator is full, you will start dancing.

Don't let that happen, because if it does, you might dance until you die...

When you are affected, you cannot move except for dancing.

Lucky for you if you have friends.

Besides death, affected players can be awakened by being hit by another player.

A Few Things You Should Know

Dancing Villagers

Affected villagers (dancing villagers) can be awakened using a lead. One villager requires one lead, but there is only a 50/50 chance of success. The villager you try to awaken may return to normal, or may not survive. It is up to you whether you want to awaken them or not. Basically, they are normal villagers. After you awaken them, they will return to being normal villagers.

Instruments

You can play musical instruments. To obtain them, you must take them from the musician villagers while they are performing. However, you must first awaken several Dancing Villagers before you can take an instrument from a musician.

Once you have an instrument, you can perform for any nearby entity and make them listen to your music. Every entity within range (7 block) will respectfully listen. Example:

For now, there are only three musical instruments. The accordion shown above is one of them. The rest is up to you to discover.

Fear Lady

She gives you nothing and does nothing to you. She is simply someone who needs to exist in this situation.

Random kid

Unaffected teenager.

The man in the well

he looks easy to blame.

Additions

  • The Mono Forest biome takes up 7% of all vanilla forest biomes. If you search for it manually using the locate command, the search time will depend heavily on the device you are using. The search may be slow or fast depending on your device.
  • If you use Vibrant Visual with this pack and enter the Mono Forest biome, the atmosphere will be set with lower saturation to create a monochrome effect. This is intended to give an old-fashioned feeling that matches the theme of the village (this only applies to mono_forest).
  • If you see a crowd in a village, searching for and taking the music disc located around the crowd will slowly stop the music playing from the crowd, and you will no longer be affected by the village's effect.
  • If you get trapped and don't have any friends... well, to avoid death, you can actually leave the game to remove the effect.
  • The ID of the Dancing Village is dv:dancing_village. If you have cheats enabled and want to locate the village, use the command /locate structure dv:dancing_village. The search time depends on the distance to the village and your device's performance.

This addon was inspired by the Dancing Plague, a historical event that took place in Strasbourg in 1518. While it draws inspiration from that event, it is not intended to be an accurate representation of what actually happened. Some elements have been adapted to better fit Minecraft gameplay.
