Combat is a key aspect of the Minecraft world that takes place all over it, whether it be for defence or for fun against others. Despite their being some alternate weapons of choice, most of this combat will simply take place using a trusty old sword that can be crafted out of some materials and does some damage, simple but effective. But maybe there could be a way to spice up the world of swords, with a range of special new variants that could improve your combat with unique abilities? This addon will do just that! Introduced in this addon is 20 new swords, all of which have their own abilities but none of which are craftable, instead you’ll have to find them in different ways. But hopefully these ways will prove worth your time!
So if none of the many new swords introduced in this addon are craftable, then how do you collect them? Well, there are a handful of methods and ways in which you can obtain these flashy new blades…

Starting us off is a brand new mob you can find in your world, named the Rogue! Very old Minecraft veterans may think he looks familiar somehow, but, eh, don’t sorry about it. Anyway, you’ll rarely find him roaming around in the forest biomes of your world, not doing too much but he can turn invisible to avoid monsters that might pose a threat to him. He wields a special sword named the Ancient Greatblade, and despite not ever actually using it for combat you can exchange a rare item with him to get the sword off of him! You can trade with him using a handful of rare or valuable items; interact with him to see which one he is particularly interested in and then give that item to him to obtain the sword. This sword is heavy so it’ll slow you down when you hold it but it’s pretty powerful and can shred your enemies’ stats!

If you’re exploring the forests whilst looking for a Rogue to barter with, you might instead rarely stumble upon a small shrine structure. Despite the visible age of this structure, there remains a sword intact within the stone on top, but be careful as it will break and be lost if you simply mine the stone. Instead, you simply need to use a pickaxe made of stone or a stronger material and interact with the stone to gently mine out a blade! This sword could simply be an iron or diamond one but could also be one of four new swords: the Emerald Sword, the Lapis Lazuli Sword, the Redstone Slicer or the Shocker, each having their own abilities to use!

Kinda inspired by the Armor Trims that were added in 1.20, many of the other swords from this addon can be obtained as rare loot in certain structures! These range from the Nether Fortress and Trial Chambers to the Bastions and even smaller places like Igloos, so you’ll have to go all around your world in order to collect all of these swords and be able to harness their unique abilities. But going on this hunt should prove pretty interesting and make you more powerful by the end of it, even if you only manage to collect a couple of swords! Their abilities range from throwing out projectiles and inflicting debuffs on struck enemies to giving you buffs and being able to summon different mobs to assist you in combat, and if you collect more of these swords you could unleash more of these abilities upon your enemies at once!

So far we‘ve looked at 19 of the 20 new swords in this addon, leaving us with just one left to be discovered! To find this last one, you’ll have to locate the rare pale garden biome and look for a very rare new structure you can find there named the Overgrown Stump. I highly doubt you’d miss it since it is VERY overgrown - the stump is absolutely massive! Within this structure lies a dangerous new mob called the Mercenary, a skeleton who is a master of melee combat and pretty much serves as a mini-boss mob for this addon. He dual wields the Bone Tearer, a powerful new blade that he will always drop on death, but the battle to get this sword won’t be easy since he is able to utilise both ranged and melee attacks as well as a handful of other abilities such as teleportation, climbing blocks, summoning skeleton allies and more! But if you emerge victorious over him, you’ll be left with some nice rewards including the most powerful sword in the addon! The Bone Tearer is able to smite undead mobs to deal more damage against them and even leech health off of slain mobs to heal you, which could make it very useful for battles!
