Description
# Beneath The Sea
Something beneath the ocean has torn the world open.
**Beneath The Sea** is an investigation-focused horror/ARG addon for Minecraft Bedrock Edition. Follow a damaged expedition route into a kilometre-scale ocean tear, recover evidence from drowned installations, and survive a Leviathan whose behaviour escalates across four persistent encounters.
## Features
- A deterministic **3,520 × 2,560-block physical ocean tear** in the Overworld.
- Layered shelves, cliffs, gullies, pits, raised formations, vents, varied geology, and dense kelp forests.
- Ten persistent expedition structures, including an evidence cache, survey station, sonar installation, wrecked submarine, habitat, cage, relay, and deepest facility.
- A Survey Compass that leads through the complete investigation route and waits for each site to generate before advancing.
- Four ordered Leviathan encounters: distant passing contact, observation, unavoidable escalation, and a mobile final hunt.
- A fully animated custom Leviathan with **500 health** during the final encounter.
- Custom sonar, depth equipment, pressure gear, emergency equipment, research logs, terminals, and crafting recipes.
- 22 original 32×32 item textures and 11 mastered underwater sound events.
- Improved underwater readability: 72-block normal visibility and a 120-block lamp profile with Night Vision.
- Persistent story, terrain, structures, loot, encounter state, and multiplayer-safe recovery.
## Installation
1. Download `Beneath_The_Sea_v1.3.0.mcaddon`.
2. Open the file with Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
3. Activate **Beneath The Sea BP** in your world. The matching resource pack is linked automatically.
4. Start exploring. No experimental toggles or external dependencies are required.
Minecraft Bedrock **26.30 or newer** is required.
## Finding the anomaly
The anomaly is placed deterministically from the world seed. If you want a direction without revealing the story, run:
`/function beneath_the_sea/find_anomaly`
For testing or troubleshooting, `/function beneath_the_sea/status` reports terrain and structure progress.
## Performance note
The tear is several kilometres across, so stable Bedrock scripting generates it progressively in loaded or temporarily ticketed chunks. Nearby safe terrain and structure footprints are prioritized first, while decoration follows afterward.
Leave **Random Tick Speed at its default value of 1**. That setting controls random block updates; increasing it does not accelerate this addon and can make performance worse.
## Compatibility
- Minecraft Bedrock 26.30+
- Single-player and multiplayer
- New and existing worlds
- No experiments required
- No required dependencies
Because this addon reshapes a very large region and supplies its own underwater fog, avoid combining it with other addons that rewrite the same terrain area or replace global water-fog behaviour.
## Credits
The Leviathan model source, conversion notes, item-art prompt ledger, and complete audio provenance are included with the editable project. Audio is mastered from redistribution-safe CC0 recordings and credited NOAA/PMEL material; detailed credits are included inside the resource pack.
This is an independent Minecraft Bedrock addon and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Mojang Studios, Microsoft, CurseForge, NOAA, or the source-recording creators.
