# Beneath The Sea 1.3.0 — The Ocean Tear Update
## World and terrain
- Retired the separate teleported Abyss; the complete experience now exists in one physical Overworld tear.
- Rebuilt the anomaly as a 3,520 × 2,560-block formation.
- Capped all authored seabed terrain below Y45 and fixed the outer shelf at deep-ocean height near Y39.
- Added cliffs, ledges, raised bumps, pits, gullies, coherent geology, vents, and denser clustered kelp forests.
- Replaced the slow interleaved generator with foreground-pinned essential work, separate decoration work, bounded fill operations, persisted cursors, and a moving pre-generation corridor.
- Structure terrain now receives the highest scheduling priority.
## Structures and exploration
- Relocated every expedition landmark into the physical tear.
- Added ten deterministic runtime sites and one central trench destination.
- Added complete-footprint loading, terrain gating, pad leveling, resumable construction, failure backoff, reload recovery, and persistent loot repair.
- Rebuilt the Survey Compass route so it cannot skip structures.
- Compass progression now requires the current landmark to be built and the player to reach it horizontally and vertically.
## Leviathan encounters
- Rebuilt the story around four strictly ordered encounters.
- Encounter 1: 1% roll every 10 seconds; the full Leviathan swims past harmlessly.
- Encounter 2: 10% roll every minute after encounter 1; it observes the player and leaves.
- Encounter 3: 10% roll every minute after encounter 2; unavoidable one-bite attack followed by retreat.
- Encounter 4: 5% roll every minute after encounter 3; persistent mobile combat with 500 health.
- Added floor-safe and loaded-chunk-safe movement, multiplayer retargeting, real-time roll deadlines, attempt tokens, entity heartbeats, orphan recovery, and stale-attempt rejection.
- Preserved all eight supplied animations and the corrected lower-jaw hierarchy.
## Visibility, art, and audio
- Increased normal underwater visibility to 72 blocks.
- The held Abyss Lamp now switches to a 120-block fog profile and maintains owned Night Vision.
- Replaced all 22 item icons with individually generated, reviewed 32×32 pixel-art textures.
- Replaced static placeholder audio with 11 mastered sound events and 19 referenced Ogg/Vorbis variants.
- Added complete CC0 and NOAA/PMEL source provenance.
## Fixes
- Removed the invalid Leviathan `damage_sensor` schema entry.
- Added required unlock data to all ten modern recipes.
- Fixed encounter cue timing, death sinking, reload-safe clocks, stale tokens, and unloaded-spawn failures.
- Fixed structure construction races, persistence failures, footprint loading, route skipping, and terrain overwrites.
- Rebuilt all archives with forward-slash ZIP paths and deterministic timestamps.
