Description

What is up guys, Voxelbro here. Listen, we all love playing Minecraft survival, but let us be completely honest for a second. The early game food grind is absolutely annoying.

You spawn in a new world, you punch some trees, you make your basic tools, and then you have to hunt for food. But wait, you cannot just eat raw beef because it barely heals your hunger bar. So now you have to go find stone, craft a furnace, go find coal, put the meat in, and literally just stand there waiting for it to cook while your friends are already down in the caves finding diamonds.

I absolutely hated this slow process. Being a 26-year-old with limited time to game, I do not want to spend my time staring at a furnace. That is exactly why I created the Auto-Cook addon. This pack completely removes the boring cooking grind from your survival worlds so you can focus on the actual fun stuff like exploring and building your massive bases.

The Core Mechanic

The main feature of this addon is ridiculously simple but it is a total game changer for your survival experience. Once you install this pack, you never have to craft a furnace just for food ever again. When you kill an animal like a cow, a pig, a chicken, or a sheep, the raw meat does not drop on the ground.

Instead, the script instantly cooks the meat mid-air and drops the fully cooked version right at your feet. It also works perfectly on salmon, cod, and even crops like potatoes and kelp. If you break a potato crop, it drops baked potatoes instantly.

It completely speeds up your gameplay. You just run through a plains biome, swing your sword a few times, and your inventory is instantly filled with ready-to-eat cooked food.

The Lucky Cook System

Now, I wanted to make hunting a bit more exciting, so I added a special random number generator mechanic to the drops. Every single time you get a cooked item, there is a rare 5 percent chance to trigger a Lucky Cook.

When this happens, a special level-up sound effect plays, a custom action bar message pops up on your screen, and your food drop is instantly doubled. It feels so good when you are running low on supplies and the game randomly blesses you with double the steaks. It makes regular hunting feel almost like opening a loot crate.

No Lost Experience Points

One of the biggest reasons players still use vanilla furnaces is to get those sweet experience points for mending gear and enchanting. I thought about that deeply.

I coded a custom XP system into this addon so you are never at a disadvantage. Every time the script auto-cooks a food item for you, it automatically spawns a real experience orb right at the drop location. You get the exact same benefits as using a furnace, but instantly. You can literally farm levels just by hunting chickens and cows.

The Milestone Rewards

I love a good grind, so I added a complete progression and milestone system into the background of this addon. The pack constantly tracks exactly how much food you have auto-cooked in your world. As you hit specific numbers, the game rewards you for your hard work. When you hit 50 cooked items, you get a solid stack of bread.

Hit 200, and you get some golden apples. But if you are a real grinder and manage to hit 500 or the legendary 1000 cooked food milestone, the game literally announces your name in the global chat to all players and drops god-tier loot like enchanted golden apples and pure diamonds directly into your inventory. It gives you a massive reason to keep hunting.

The Auto-Cook UI Panel

I know that sometimes you actually need raw food in the game. Maybe you want to trade raw chicken with a butcher villager for emeralds, or feed raw fish to a cat to tame it. I did not want this addon to ruin those basic vanilla mechanics.

So, the very first time you join a world with this pack installed, you are given a special custom item called the Auto-Cook Panel. If you hold this item and use it, it opens up a clean UI menu right on your screen. From this menu, you can check your total cooked stats, see your progress towards the next big milestone reward, and most importantly, you can toggle the auto-cook system completely off or on with a single click. It is totally in your control.

Multiplayer and Realms Ready

I built this from the ground up to be fully multiplayer compatible. You can drop this into your SMP or your Realm and it will work perfectly for everyone. The stats are tracked individually for each specific player, so you can literally race your friends to see who can hit the 1000 food milestone first without your numbers mixing up.

Important Setup Guide

Since this addon uses custom UI menus, custom items, and advanced background tracking scripts, you absolutely have to go into your Minecraft world settings and turn on the Beta APIs experiment before you load in. If you forget to do this, the UI panel will not work and the animals will just drop raw meat like normal. Just tick the setting and you are ready to play.
