RR AFK Detector PRO v2.0.0 - The Complete Server Management Tool
Hey everyone. If you have ever run a multiplayer SMP, a Realm, or even just played on a survival world with a group of friends, you already know the everyday struggles of communication and player safety. One of the most annoying things in Minecraft is when you are trying to talk to someone in the chat, asking them if they want to trade or sleep to skip the night, and they just ignore you. You have no idea if they are ignoring you on purpose or if they simply walked away from their screen. On the flip side, we have all been in a situation where we just needed to step away from the keyboard for two minutes to grab a glass of water or answer the door. You leave your character standing in what you think is a safe spot, but when you come back, you find the red death screen because a random zombie wandered in or a phantom dropped from the sky. All your XP levels and diamond gear are scattered on the floor, ready to despawn.
I was tired of seeing this happen on my own servers, so I decided to create a permanent solution. The RR AFK Detector PRO addon is designed to completely automate how your server handles idle players. It tracks inactivity, protects your players from unfair deaths, and keeps the whole server informed. Version 2.0.0 is the biggest update yet. I have unlocked every single feature for you right out of the box. There are no locked settings and no keys needed. It is a plug-and-play solution that will instantly make your server feel like a professional network.
Fully Automated Detection System
The best part about this addon is that players do not need to do anything extra. There are no commands to type like "/afk" when you want to leave. The system works silently in the background and monitors player movement and rotation. If you stop touching your keyboard or controller for a specific amount of time, the addon automatically realizes you are idle and flags your character as AFK.
Server admins have total control over this threshold. From the in-game settings menu, you can adjust the AFK timer anywhere from 1 minute up to 10 minutes. If you want a strict server, you can set it to 2 minutes. If you want a more relaxed environment, push it up to 5 or 10 minutes. The moment a player crosses that time limit, the system springs into action.
To make sure everyone knows you are busy, the addon dynamically changes your name tag. It adds a highly visible [AFK] prefix right above your character's head. At the same time, an Action Bar timer appears on the AFK player's screen, counting the exact minutes and seconds they have been idle. The moment you move your mouse or walk, the system detects your return, removes the tags, and instantly clears your AFK status.
Total Player Protection and Safety
This is honestly the most important feature for any survival server. As I mentioned before, dying just because you had to take a real-life break is unfair and frustrating. To fix this, I added a powerful AFK Invincibility mode that server admins can toggle on or off.
When Invincibility is enabled, the addon grants absolute damage immunity to any player the second they are officially marked as AFK. This means they will take zero damage from absolutely any source. A creeper can explode right next to them, a skeleton can shoot them with arrows, and they can even run out of food and start starving, but their health will not drop. They are completely safe. As soon as the player returns and moves their character, the invincibility is instantly removed so they can continue playing normally. It is a perfectly balanced safety net.
Server Communication and Visual Alerts
A good server needs good communication. When someone goes AFK, the addon sends a global broadcast message in the chat notifying everyone online that the specific player has stepped away. It also plays a subtle alert sound so people notice it even if they are busy mining.
When that player finally returns, the server sends another broadcast welcoming them back. But it doesn't just say they are back; it actually calculates and displays exactly how long they were gone. It is a really neat feature that keeps the community connected.
On top of the chat messages, I wanted a way for players to identify AFK people from a distance without having to read their name tags. So, when a player is AFK, the addon generates a continuous smoke particle effect rising from their character. If you run into a crowded base or a shopping district and see someone with smoke coming off them, you instantly know not to bother them.
Advanced Tracking, Stats, and History
With Version 2.0.0, I wanted to turn this basic utility into something really detailed. The addon now features a deep statistical tracking system for every individual player.
It records every single AFK session. You can open your personal AFK History log to see your last 20 AFK sessions, showing exactly how long each session lasted and how long ago it happened. The system also calculates your overall stats. You can check your Total AFK Count, your Total Time spent AFK across the lifetime of the world, your Longest AFK record, and your Average AFK duration.
If you play with a group of friends, you can actually turn this into a fun competition. The addon includes a Live Server Leaderboard. With one click, you can pull up a list of the Top 10 players on the server, ranked by who has spent the most total time being AFK. It is always funny to see which of your friends is the laziest player on the realm.
The Book GUI and Quick Settings
I strongly believe that Bedrock addons should not rely on typing long chat commands. It ruins the immersion and is annoying for mobile and console players. That is why every single feature, setting, and leaderboard in this addon is accessed through a beautiful UI menu.
All you have to do is hold a standard Book in your hand, Sneak (crouch), and Use the item. This instantly opens your Master Dashboard. From here, you can check your stats, view the history, and open the leaderboards.
I also added a brand new Quick Settings menu. I know some players might find particle effects or sounds annoying, so this menu lets you customize your own experience. With simple toggle buttons, you can easily turn off the global announcements, mute the sound alerts, hide the smoke particles, or disable the action bar timer just for yourself. It gives you total freedom to make the addon work exactly how you want it to.

Important Installation Requirement: Because this addon relies on complex background scripts to monitor player movement, calculate time, apply invincibility, and generate the UI menus, it requires experimental features. You MUST go into your World Settings, navigate to the Experiments tab, and turn on Beta APIs before you load the world. If you forget to enable this, the script will not run, the game will not detect when you are AFK, and the book menu will not open.
