🧭 PLAYER HEADS LOCATOR BAR 2.0.0 — YOU'VE GOT THE HEADS. NOW GO FIND THE OWNERS. 🧭
STOP. LOOK UP. NO, HIGHER. THE LITTLE BAR. YES, THAT ONE.
You know the locator bar. That thin strip above your hotbar with the coloured dots that tells you someone is over there. Could be your best mate. Could be the guy who griefed your sheep farm. Could be anyone. A dot is a dot.
NOT ANY MORE.
This addon replaces every one of those dots with the player's ACTUAL FACE. Their skin. Their Character Creator character. Their questionable haircut. Rendered, shrunk down, and stuck on the bar. Glance up and you know exactly who's coming.
Built the Player Heads pack already? Congratulations, you own their heads. Now you can find the rest of them. Upload that pack to our site and we'll pull the whole player list across. You don't even have to type.
🔥 WHAT IT DOES 🔥
👀 FACES, NOT DOTS 👀
Every player in your world shows up on everyone else's locator bar as their own head. Real skin, real persona, real hat. Anyone who wanders in that isn't in your pack gets a fallback — Steve, Alex, or a plain dot. You choose. They don't get a say.
📏 THEY SHRINK WITH DISTANCE 📏
Someone stood next to you? Full-size face. Someone 300 blocks away mining diamonds without you? A tiny dot of a head, exactly as they deserve. Four sizes, and you set the range. Or turn it off and have everyone full-size forever. Your bar, your rules.
🚫 THE VANILLA DOTS GO AWAY 🚫
We switch them off for you, automatically, so you don't get a face and a dot stood next to each other like a bad chaperone. You don't have to touch a single gamerule.
🕵️ SNEAKING, INVISIBLE, DEAD, SPECTATING 🕵️
Vanilla hides all of those from the bar. So do we, by default. But every single one is a toggle. Want to see your sneaking friends? Toggle. Want to see invisible players because your "friend" keeps using potions to steal from your chests? Toggle. Want dead players to stay on the bar while they're on the respawn screen? You monster. Toggle.
🎛️ EVERY PLAYER PICKS THEIR OWN VIEW 🎛️
Someone on your realm doesn't want faces? Fine. They type one command:
/phlb:heads on— faces, the default, the correct choice/phlb:heads dots— plain dots, for the nostalgic/phlb:heads off— nothing at all, for hermits
It only changes their bar. It doesn't need cheats — And it remembers next time they join. The pack creator can switch this feature off if they'd rather everyone just looked at faces. Democracy is optional.
🏠 ONLY THE HOST NEEDS IT 🏠
Everything runs on whoever's hosting, or on the realm. Nobody else installs anything. They join, they see faces. Done.
💻 HOW TO USE — THE GENERATOR 💻
Head to locatorbar.mygen.co.uk:
- TYPE A GAMERTAG — their Xbox name. Any capitalisation. Or paste a whole list at once, one per line
- WATCH THE BAR — the preview is a real in-game HUD. Your friends appear on it as you add them
- PICK YOUR OPTIONS — fallback face, distance shrink, who's visible, whether players get the command
- HIT DOWNLOAD —
.mcaddonin your hands
No coding. No file editing. No JSON. GAMERTAGS IN, FACES OUT.
Got a Player Heads pack?
UPLOAD IT. We'll spot it, pull out every name, and render a locator head for each one. Your whole roster, zero typing.
Already got one of THESE packs?
Upload it back to the site. Add players, remove players, refresh every head in one click because someone changed their skin again. Download. It's the same pack as far as Minecraft is concerned — it just updates in place. Don't delete the old one first. Don't.
📥 INSTALLATION — READ THIS BIT. ACTUALLY READ IT. 📥
We know. Nobody reads this section. Then they leave a comment saying it doesn't work. Be better.
- Download the
.mcaddon(sample pack below, or build your own) - Open it — Minecraft imports it automatically
- Create or edit a world, go to Behavior Packs, and turn it on. BEHAVIOR. PACKS. The resource pack switches itself on with it, because they're linked, because we thought of that
- Get another human into your world. A locator bar with one person on it is just a bar. This is the step people miss
- Look up
Needs Minecraft Bedrock 1.26.40 or newer. No experimental toggles required. If you turned on experiments anyway, you've made your world un-achievable for nothing. Turn them off.
🎨 IF A PLAYER CAN'T BE FOUND 🎨
- Bedrock player we can't find? Some accounts are only visible once they've joined a cross-play server. Send them to bedrocktogether.com — one join and they're sorted.
- Still nothing? Upload their skin file directly on the site. Type their exact in-game name, drop the 64×64 PNG in, done.
- Someone's showing up as Steve? They're not in the pack. Or you spelt their name wrong. It's one of those two. It's always one of those two.
❓ THINGS PEOPLE WILL ASK ANYWAY ❓
"The heads are small." They're the size of a vanilla locator dot, which is the biggest the game lets us draw. We crop every texture tight to the face so not one pixel is wasted. It is, genuinely, as big as it goes. We tried bigger. The game said no.
"Do my friends need the pack?" No. Read the bit above. We wrote it just for you.
"Does it work on Java?" It's a Bedrock addon. On CurseForge. Under Bedrock. No.
"Can I see myself?" You are the arrow. You have always been the arrow.
🎯 WHY DO WE DO THIS? 🎯
Because "there's a dot over there" is not information. "PPTribalize is over there and he's coming this way" — that's information. That's why.
Made by MyGen Gaming — with coffee, late nights, and a locator bar that finally makes sense.
Head renders by minecraftrender.com.
The vanilla dots were not harmed. They were simply asked to leave.
