Here's a thing we didn't know until someone found out the hard way: Minecraft has a hidden limit on how many custom block variations one world can hold. Every head you place can face sixteen directions on the floor and hang off four walls, and behind the scenes each of those counted as its own block. Get past a few hundred heads and the whole pack tipped over the edge.

Fixed. Each head now costs the game about a fifth of what it used to. A full thousand-head pack fits with room to spare — and you'll still have plenty of headroom for other custom-block addons in the same world.

If you've got a big pack — rebuild it. Upload it to the site, hit download, done. Same pack, same world, no more tipping over.

🧭 YOU CHOOSE HOW FINELY HEADS TURN 🧭

Heads on the floor spin round to face you when placed. They always have. Now you decide how precisely.

• 22.5° — sixteen directions. The default. What you've always had.
• 45° — eight directions. Lighter on the world.
• 90° — four directions. Lightest of all. Heads snap to the compass.

Coarser turns cost less of that hidden limit, which matters if you're running a lot of custom-block addons side by side. The generator tells you exactly how much of the budget your pack is using as you build it, so there's no guesswork and no nasty surprise after install.

Placed heads used to appear facing the wrong way for a single frame before snapping round. Now they land facing you. Tiny thing. Very satisfying.

Hats sit on heads. Helmets fit. Horns, ears, ponytails, antlers and enormous anime hair all land exactly where they're supposed to. The weirder and more elaborate the character, the better it looks.

The cap is 1000. Build the entire server roster. Build your whole Discord. Build every YouTuber you've ever watched, their mums, and that one guy from the SMP nobody likes. And as of 3.2.0, the world will thank you for it.

💀 RANDOM HEADS FROM MOB KILLS 💀

Every mob you kill has a chance to drop a random head from your pack. Non-PvP server? Pack stuffed with YouTubers who are never, ever going to join your world? Doesn't matter. Go punch a zombie.

You set the odds anywhere from "vanishingly rare" to "every single mob", and the generator tells you in plain English what your number actually means. Boats, minecarts and armour stands don't count. You have to actually fight something.

📚 HEADS STACK 📚

To 64, like vanilla player heads always should have. Heads you claimed off a player kill keep their "killed by" tag, so those stay separate. The receipts are the whole point.

🏆 THE USUAL SUSPECTS — STILL HERE, STILL LETHAL 🏆

• PLACE IT — mount heads as decorative blocks. They turn to face you when placed — as finely as you like. Floor, walls, trophy cabinets, your mate's base without asking. Explosion-proof, because creepers have done enough damage to your collection already.
• WEAR IT — stick a head in your helmet slot and walk around wearing your friend's face. Assert dominance.
• LOOT IT — defeat a player whose head is in the pack and it drops as an item, tagged with who claimed the kill and when. Bragging rights: permanent.
• TRADE IT — the wandering trader turns up with a briefcase full of heads for emeralds. How he got them? Between him and his god.
• FARM IT — turn on mob drops and every creeper, zombie and skeleton becomes a lottery ticket. The wandering trader considers this undercutting and is furious.

Upload it back to the site. Add heads. Remove heads. Re-download. The pack stays the same pack as far as Minecraft is concerned, so it just updates — no need to remove the old one first.

🎨 IF A HEAD CAN'T BE FOUND 🎨

• Getting a plain cube instead of a proper 3D head? That player is wearing a Classic Skin rather than a Character Creator character. One trip to the Dressing Room to pick a character sorts it out.
• Bedrock player we can't find at all? Some Bedrock accounts are only visible to us once they've joined a cross-play server. Point them at bedrocktogether.com — one join and they're sorted.
• Java players come straight from Mojang, so if they've got an account, we've got their skin.
• Nobody can find them? Upload their skin file directly on the site. Type their exact in-game name, drop the PNG in, done. Works for literally anyone.
