HyTrash

A Hytale plugin that adds a portable trash bin with undo functionality - delete items anywhere, anytime, and recover them with a simple command. Think of it as Windows Recycle Bin for your Hytale inventory.

Press Q to empty instantly! No commands needed - just hold your trash bin and press Q for quick deletion with confirmation.

Features

Portable Trash Bin Item

• Craftable container - Holds 36 items (full inventory page worth)
• Carry it anywhere - Take your trash bin on adventures, no need to run back to a static trash can
• Right-click to open - Add items to your trash bin from your hotbar
• Visual 3D model - Realistic trash can appearance when held or dropped
• One-time craft - Only need 1 Stone Rubble at a Workbench (Tinkering station)

Deletion System

• Close confirmation - Closing the bin with items inside shows a Delete / Keep Items dialog
• No ESC bypass - Close confirmation cannot be dismissed with ESC; you must choose
• Q-key empty - Press Q to empty with confirmation dialog
• Batch deletion - Empty entire trash bin at once with /hytrash empty
• Safety first - Can't accidentally delete items without confirmation
• Item count preview - Dialog shows "Delete X items?" with detailed count message

Backpack Mode

• Toggle with /hytrash backpack - Skip the close confirmation; items stay in the bin
• Persisted across restarts - Your backpack mode preference survives server restarts
• Per-player setting - Each player controls their own mode independently

Undo Functionality

• 5-level undo history - Recover items from your last 5 emptying operations
• Per-player tracking - Each player has their own independent undo history
• Simple command - Just type /hytrash undo to restore your last emptied items
• Smart space check - Won't restore if your trash bin doesn't have enough slots
• Visual notification - Shows confirmation with item icon and count when items are restored

Immersive Sound Effects

All audio feedback uses Hytale's native sound system:

• Empty Trash - SFX_Campfire_Close_Local plays when you permanently delete items (trash bin lid sound)
• Undo Restore - SFX_Divine_Respawn plays when items are restored (magical restoration sound)

Commands

All commands work in-game:

• /hytrash - Show plugin info and command list
• /hytrash empty - Empty your held trash bin (shows confirmation dialog)
• /hytrash undo - Restore last emptied items (up to 5 times)
• /hytrash backpack - Toggle backpack mode (skip close confirmation)

Crafting Recipe

Workbench (Tinkering Station)

• Input: 1x Stone Rubble
• Output: 1x Trash Bin (36 slots)

Stone Rubble is commonly found by breaking stone blocks or rubble piles.

Installation

1. Download HyTrash-1.1.1.jar
2. Place the JAR file in your Hytale mods folder:
   • %AppData%\Roaming\Hytale\UserData\Mods\
3. Restart Hytale
4. Craft your trash bin at a Workbench!

Known Limitations

• Trash bin icon display in confirmation dialog not yet supported by Hytale UI API
• Item metadata (enchantments, durability) fully preserved in undo system
