Description
GlymeraOres
Part three of the fluid trilogy — works on its own, shines together with GlymeraBucket (carry lava and other fluids) and GlymeraFountain (endless fluid sources). Bucket brings the fluids, Fountain keeps them flowing, Ores makes the meeting point worth building around.
In vanilla Hytale, water and lava always solidify into plain stone. With GlymeraOres, that moment gets interesting: every solidified block has a configurable chance to come out as an ore instead. Build yourself a Minecraft-style ore generator — the classic that Hytale was missing.
How it works
Wherever water and lava meet — hand-poured, from a fountain, or in a contraption — the game forms stone, cobblestone or cooled magma. GlymeraOres hooks exactly that moment:
- 85 % of the time you get the normal stone, just like vanilla.
- 15 % of the time (default, fully configurable) the block comes out as a real, native ore block instead.
No new blocks, no custom items: the plugin places the same ore blocks you mine in the wild, with their normal drops and tools. It also costs your server nothing — no scanning, no ticking, the dice roll happens inside the game's own solidification step.
The ores
All eight ores that exist as mineable blocks in Hytale, weighted by rarity:
| Ore | Default weight |
|---|---|
| Copper | 28 |
| Iron | 28 |
| Silver | 14 |
| Gold | 11 |
| Cobalt | 9 |
| Thorium | 5 |
| Mithril | 3 |
| Adamantite | 2 |
Every weight can be changed, set to 0, or cranked up. There are also seven crystal colours in the config (off by default) if you want your generator to sparkle.
Build your first generator
- Let lava fall from above — a dispenser of your choice, a lava fall, or a GlymeraFountain lava well.
- Run water into its path from the side.
- Where they meet, stone forms — sometimes it glitters. Mine it, or let a piston (e.g. GlymeraBluestone) push it out automatically.
That's all. The mechanic works anywhere in the world, in any contraption shape.
Configuration
mods/de.glymera_GlymeraOres/config.json
| Option | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
oreChance |
0.15 |
Overall chance that a solidified block becomes an ore (0–1) |
oreWeights |
see table | Relative weight per ore; 0 removes it from the pool |
crystalWeights |
all 0 |
Crystal blocks as additional rolls — off until you want them |
tierCap |
0 |
1–4 limits ores to a rarity tier (e.g. 1 = copper/iron only); 0 = off |
Notes
- Zero footprint: no new blocks or items ever enter your world. Uninstall the plugin and everything that was generated is plain native content.
- No dependencies, no commands.
- Works standalone — best experienced as the finale of the trilogy with GlymeraBucket and GlymeraFountain.
