Death Item Timer

Displays a HUD countdown showing how long until your death items despawn.

Features

  • 10-Minute Countdown - Displays time remaining before dropped items despawn
  • Multiple Death Support - Tracks up to 5 death locations simultaneously
  • Auto-Clear on Collection - Timer automatically clears when you return to collect your items
  • Stacked Display - Multiple timers stack vertically on screen
  • Gradual Color Transition - Timer color shifts from white → yellow → orange → red as time decreases
  • Urgency Effects - Timer pulses (size) under 30 seconds, blinks under 10 seconds

Installation

  1. Download DeathItemTimer-1.0.2.jar
  2. Place in your Hytale mods folder:
    • Windows: %APPDATA%\Hytale\UserData\Mods\
  3. Launch Hytale

Commands

Command Description
/ditimer Show mod info and status
/ditimer clear Clear all active timers
/ditimer old clear Clear all timers except the most recent
/ditimer off Disable the mod for this session
/ditimer on Enable the mod

How It Works

  1. When you die, a 10-minute countdown timer appears on screen
  2. The timer shows how long until your items despawn
  3. If you die multiple times, each death gets its own timer (up to 5)
  4. When you return to a death location and leave again, that timer clears (items collected)
  5. If the timer reaches 0:00, the items have despawned

Configuration

The mod uses Hytale's default 10-minute item despawn time. The HUD appears in the top-right corner of the screen.

  • Death/respawn crash fix - No more client disconnect when dying with active timer
    • Added sendClientPackets parameter to hideHud() method
    • Removed destructive clearHud() call that destroyed MultipleHUD container
    • Death systems already clear client UI - sending packets was redundant and broke namespace references
