Daguz Butcher Tool

Daguz Butcher Tool automates livestock management and butchering in Hytale.

Create and manage animal farms, automatically butcher excess livestock, and collect resources in a connected chest. Choose how many males and females to keep for breeding, and protect individual animals from slaughter.

The mod supports species with separate male and female models and works alongside Daguz Selective Breeding.

Requires Daguz Core.

How to Set Up a Farm

1. Craft the Butcher Tool: Use the Farmer's Workbench (Tier 2) to craft a Daguz Butcher Tool.

2. Select Your Farm Area: Equip the tool and left-click a block to mark the first corner (A).

3. Mark the Opposite Corner: Left-click another block to mark the second corner (B). The maximum farm area is 16 × 16 × 4 blocks.

4. Connect a Chest: Right-click a chest with at least one empty inventory slot. The Butcher Tool will be placed inside the chest, establishing the farm's connection.

5. Reopen Your Farm: To access your farm settings again, take the Butcher Tool out of the chest and right-click the chest while holding it.

Your farm is now ready to configure!

Available Settings

FARM Settings

• Animal Type: Select which species your farm can process.

• Keep Males: Choose how many adult males to protect from slaughter (0–10).

• Keep Females: Choose how many adult females to protect from slaughter (0–10).

• Automatic Slaughtering: Enable or disable automatic harvesting.

• Manual Slaughtering: Trigger a harvest whenever you choose.

• Trap Mode: Leave Animal Type unselected to harvest any eligible, unprotected adult creature within the farm area.

HERD Management

• View Animals: See all animals currently inside your farm.

• Inspect Animals: View their gender, growth stage, and available genetic information.

• Individual Protection: Manually protect or unprotect specific animals.

• Refresh: Update the list of animals in your farm.

Automatic Harvesting

When enabled, automatic harvesting runs every 5 minutes, processing one eligible animal every 5 seconds.

The system respects your selected breeding reserves, ensuring that the specified number of adult males and females are kept alive.

Baby and Juvenile animals are never slaughtered. Individually protected animals are also completely excluded from slaughter.

The system supports species with separate male and female NPC models, such as Moose and Deer.

Moving or Resetting a Farm

The Butcher Tool remembers its farm configuration and the location of its connected chest.

If you remove or relocate the chest, the tool will remain linked to its previous location.

To set up the farm at a new location:

1. Retrieve the Butcher Tool from the chest.

2. Mark a new farm area by selecting two corners with left-click.

3. Right-click the new chest with the tool to establish a new connection.

The previous chest connection will be replaced by the new farm setup.

Final Words

Daguz Butcher Tool is my second Hytale mod, following Daguz Selective Breeding, and I'm looking forward to developing it further.
