Changelog
All notable changes to Yapbook (formerly LyricPlayer). Each release lists which files changed:
`Yapbook.lua` is the addon code.
`Yapbook.toc` is the addon manifest: interface version, title, notes, version and saved variables.
Format based on Keep a Changelog. Versions follow `MAJOR.MINOR`.
[Yapbook 1.4] - 2026-10-22
Files: `Yapbook.lua`, `Yapbook.toc`, `README.md`
Added
Guide tab: a third chapter tab with an in-game usage guide. `/yap guide` opens it directly.
Mini bar: a floating bar with your favorites. Left-click a button to send, Shift-click to ignore the cooldown, right-click to edit. Buttons show the cooldown swirl, color stripe and a channel badge (P, G, Gen and so on).
Mini bar handle: drag it to move the bar, left-click it to open the book, right-click it to switch between horizontal and vertical.
Next arrow on the mini bar: appears while a message waits for a click and shows the line count (e.g. `2/3`). Right-click it to stop.
Per-entry channel: a new Channel field in the editor. An entry with its own channel always goes there. Entries without one use the book's channel.
Mini bar button in the book's controls.
`/yap bar`, `/yap bar vertical`, `/yap bar horizontal` and `/yap barscale <0.5-2>`.
Entry cards and tooltips show where an entry will be sent.
Changed
Preview overrides everything: when the book's channel is Preview, every entry prints only to your own chat window, whatever its own channel is.
Joined channels are stored by name without the zone, so "General" works in every zone's General.
Minimap right-click now shows or hides the mini bar. Auto/Manual is on the Mode button and `/yap manual`.
Clearer errors: an entry that can't be sent says why, for example "you're not in a party" or "Trade is only available in major cities".
The status line shows the target channel ("Sending: LFM to General 1 / 2").
Fixed
The book's channel stopped working after changing zones when it was set to a zone channel.
`Yapbook.toc`
`## Version: 1.4`
`## Notes:` updated to mention the mini bar and per-message channels.
[Yapbook 1.3] - 2026-10-22
Files: `Yapbook.lua`, `Yapbook.toc`, `README.md`
Changed
The send mode follows the channel: Say, Yell, Emote and joined channels always use Manual, and the Mode button shows "Manual (required)" and is disabled. Party, Raid, Guild, Instance and Preview keep the Auto/Manual choice.
The first line of every message is sent on your click, in Auto mode too.
The minimap right-click and `/yap manual` explain which channels the Auto/Manual choice applies to.
Fixed
Messages to Say, General and other public channels were blocked when the Mode was left on Auto.
Block recovery: if the game refuses a timed line, Yapbook switches that message to Manual and resends the line on the next Next line press instead of dropping it. If the refused line was line 1, its cooldown is undone.
`Yapbook.toc`
`## Version: 1.3`
[Yapbook 1.2] - 2026-10-22
Files: `Yapbook.lua`, `Yapbook.toc`, `README.md` (new)
Added
Icon picker: about 60 classic icons over several pages, a box for any icon name or file ID, and a reset to the chapter's default. Icons the client doesn't have are hidden where the API allows it.
Colors: seven entry colors, shown as a stripe and tinted card.
Tags: comma-separated, shown as `#tags` and searchable (`#wts`).
Favorites: a star on each entry. Favorites appear in a row at the top of every page.
Entry cooldown: a slider from off to 5 minutes and `/yap cooldown`, with a cooldown swirl on icons. Shift-click sends anyway. Preview sends don't start the cooldown.
`README.md` bundled with the addon.
Changed
The window is taller, to fit three rows of controls.
The search box hint mentions `#tags`.
Fixed
The status read "1 lines" for single-line messages.
`Yapbook.toc`
`## Version: 1.2`
[Yapbook 1.1] - 2026-10-21
Files: `Yapbook.lua`, `Yapbook.toc`
Added
Visual polish: an aged-paper vignette, gilded page trim, gold rules beside the title and a diamond ornament on the divider.
Animations: entries fade in on page and tab changes, flash when clicked and are highlighted while sending. Selected tabs pulse, and the minimap button pulses while sending.
Sounds: spellbook open and close, page turns and tab clicks.
A gold progress bar under the status line.
Friendly messages for empty chapters.
Changed
The minimap button shows a book instead of a music note.
Fixed
In Manual mode, the status stayed on the last line until Next was pressed again. It now reads "Done" right after the last line.
`Yapbook.toc`
`## Version: 1.1`
[Yapbook 1.0] - 2026-10-21
Files: `Yapbook.lua` (new), `Yapbook.toc` (new)

Files: `LyricPlayer.lua`, `LyricPlayer.toc`
Added
Minimap button: left-click opens the window, right-click opens presets, drag to move.

Files: `LyricPlayer.lua`, `LyricPlayer.toc`
