XIVPlates
Enemy nameplates in the same style as XIVPlayer and XIVTarget, so the whole screen looks like it belongs together.
Each enemy gets a thin glowing gauge, the way FFXIV draws its bars. The name sits centred above it, and the level and health sit underneath. Long names never get cut off. Friendly nameplates are left alone.
What's on a plate
- Health in FFXIV's colours: red once it's fighting, yellow while it's passive. Or plain hostile red and neutral yellow if you prefer.
- Casts as a thin line under the plate, with the spell name and time left. Casts you can't interrupt turn grey.
- Your combo points under your target's gauge, for rogues and druids in cat form.
- Your debuffs above the name.
- Threat: plates change colour while you're on an enemy's threat list, and show your lead (or how far behind you are). Works for tanks and everyone else.
- Execute range: the gauge changes colour once an enemy is low enough for Execute or Hammer of Wrath.
- Quest mobs get a yellow "!" before the name, raid marks show beside the gauge.
Your target's plate is a little bigger, with gold text, and the rest dim slightly so it stands out.
Settings
Type /xivplates (or /xpl), or find it under Options > AddOns > Frog Wizard.
Pretty much everything can be changed: width, height, scale, font, colours, and the size and position of every bit of text. Each text line is a template, so you choose what it says. Lv level, name, percent and value / max are the usual ones.
Good to know
- XIVPlates uses Blizzard's own cast bar and debuffs underneath, so they keep working in combat when the game hides details from addons.
- It shares its nameplate code with FrogPlates. Run one or the other, not both. If both are on, the second one stays out of the way and tells you so.
- Fonts included: M PLUS 1p, Michroma and Source Sans 3, all under the SIL Open Font License.
