Xal's Welcome Wagon - Changelog
1.0.0 - October 23, 2026
I found a guild welcome addon I liked the idea of, but it wasn't in English, so I decided to build my own. Nobody joins a guild and wants to hear nothing back, and nobody wants to type "welcome" forty times a week either. So Welcome Wagon watches for new members and for guildmates logging in, and has a welcome ready for each of them. There are 100 built in so it never sounds like a broken record, and you can add your own. The game won't let an addon post to guild chat on its own anymore, so every welcome waits behind a small glowing icon and goes out when you click it. Joins get a wagon, logins get a welcome mat, and achievements get a trophy, each with its own size, spot and sound. Thank you for being part of the Xal family.
🆕 New
- A small glowing alert icon appears when someone joins your guild or a guildmate logs in. Hover it to see the welcome, left-click to post it in guild chat, right-click to skip it.
- Make each alert icon (wagon, mat, trophy) bigger or smaller on its own, 50% to 200%, from the Alert Icon page, with a link that shows a test icon and a button that puts it back dead center. Each icon remembers its own spot.
- Bind a key under Options > Key Bindings to send the next welcome without the mouse.
- Optional sounds, a different one for each alert: new members, logins and achievements each get their own on/off and their own pick from 8 sounds - click one to hear it. Logins also get their own welcome mat icon.
- Optional congratulations for guildmates' achievements, with their own gold trophy alert icon. 100 built in plus your own - is the guildmate and is the achievement. Off by default, and you can skip small ones with a minimum points setting. It can play a sound too.
- 100 welcomes and 100 welcome-backs built in, picked at random and never the same one twice in a row. Add your own too - is swapped for the member's name.
- An optional whisper to new members, sent automatically after a delay you set. Off by default.
- A buffer, so the same person doesn't come up again every time they log off and on.
- "Invite to Guild" on player right-click menus (shows only if your rank can invite).
- A minimap button and a full settings window -
/xwwopens it - with every setting in its own card.
