# Changelog
What changed in WoW Forever Tracker, newest first. Each entry is an addon version (the number in the
addon list in game) and the website changes that came out with it.
## 20 — 2026-10-06
**Addon**
- **Scan now** can no longer stay on "Scanning…": if a scan fails, the button is free again at once and
chat says the scan didn't finish; if the game never answers, the addon gives up after 5 minutes and
says so. It also picks up a scan's answer even when the game doesn't announce it.
- Chat says how long each scan took ("Scanned 18,402 listings in 2.4 s"), and the addon's file keeps
how the last scan went, to help track down a scan that goes wrong.
## 19 — 2026-10-06
**Addon**
- Fixed **Scan now** stopping partway when someone has an item listed for a joke price (near the most
gold an auction allows): the scan's prices weren't saved and its market notes were left empty.
Should the market notes ever fail again, the scan's prices are still saved.
**Website**
- New auction scans reach the Auction trends page within a few hours of being taken, instead of once
a day.
## 18 — 2026-10-06
**Addon**
- **Scan now** also notes the market for the tracker: how many of each item are listed, in how many
auctions by how many sellers, its typical price, and what sold since your last scan. Sales are an
estimate: listings that vanished while they still had hours to run, less the ones their seller
cancelled and listed again. Sellers are kept only as anonymous numbers, never their names.
**Website**
- New **Auction trends** page under Professions: every item's price, how many are listed and how many
sell a day, over the last 30 days, and how each moved against the week before. It picks out what's
selling fastest, rising and falling, flags hot sellers, slow sellers and oversupplied markets, and
lists the best things to craft and sell (profit each, times how many sell a day).
- Each item opens charts of its price, supply and sales, with the numbers day by day.
- The history starts with addon 18's scans, one point per scan. With Auctionator, its prices add to the
price trends too.
## 17 — 2026-10-05
**Addon**
- `/wft status` says what the addon has read and noted so far: your character, talents (and whether
they came from Forever's talent trees), the trainer spells you've learned, honor rank, bags, recipes,
field notes, item stats and prices.
**Website**
- WoW Forever: about 1,700 more items. Forever's game lists them but only shows their details once the
server has (a drop on your realm), so Classic Era's stand in until then, and the tooltip says so.
Among them are well-known drops such as Bloodrazor and Destiny, now in gear plans and loot lists.
- WoW Forever: the healing potions, Minor to Major, are back in Alchemy plans. Forever's game hides
their recipes, so Classic Era's stand in, with Forever's own skill levels.
- The line under the totals says when each version's data last changed ("updated 2 hours ago"), which
game build it's from, and when a newer WoW Forever build is out.
- WoW Forever's data is now from build 1.60.1.70235.
## 16 — 2026-10-05
**Addon**
- WoW Forever: notes each item's stats as the game shows them, for what passes through your bags, the
gear you wear, loot windows and vendors (and a weapon's damage and speed, in an English game client).
The game only shows a Forever item's numbers once it has dropped on your realm. They're shared with your
quests and field notes, and the Share preview says how many there are.
**Website**
- WoW Forever gear shows the stats players have seen in game, in place of the tracker's own estimates
from the game's stat budget. Gear suggestions and the Stats tab use them.
## 15 — 2026-10-05
**Addon**
- WoW Forever: your talents are read from Forever's own talent trees, so **Use … from the game** on the
Talents page picks what you really chose.
**Website**
- WoW Forever's talent trees are now Forever's own, reworked trees, with every rank's description and
the talents each one needs first. Until now Classic Era's trees were shown in their place. A Forever
talent plan saved earlier needs picking again.
- WoW Forever's two new races, **High Order Skyborne** (Alliance) and **Windshaper Skyborne** (Horde),
can be chosen for a character and come through from the game. Race-only quests, items, spells and
recipes count them in, and the mage city teleports show for the right side's Skyborne.
- The Class trainer card no longer lists Forever abilities that come from talents (Penance, Mutilate,
Riptide and others) as spells to buy.
- WoW Forever's data now updates after every play session, not only after a patch, so Blizzard's
hotfixes and newly seen quests, creatures and objects get onto the site the same day.
## 14 — 2026-10-05
**Addon**
- Saves your honor rank (the highest you've reached, which is what PvP gear asks for), so gear
suggestions include the PvP pieces you can wear without typing the rank in.
- Saves which of your class trainer's spells you've learned, and reads them again whenever you leave a
trainer.
**Website**
- The **Class trainer** card on Home lists every spell your character can train but hasn't learned,
including any skipped at earlier levels, instead of guessing that everything before your level is
trained. It needs a sync from addon 14 or later.
- A synced character's honor rank comes from the game.
- WoW Forever: about 60 more quests and 300 more creatures and objects from recent play, and more items.
## 13 — 2026-10-05
**Addon**
- Saves more of your character for the website: where it's standing, the quests in its log and which of
their objectives are done, its rested experience, what's in its bags (and its bank, once you've opened
it), and the recipes it knows (open each profession's window once). A profession you look at through a
link or a guildmate isn't saved as yours.
- Collapsing a header in the Skills, Reputation or quest log no longer drops those professions,
reputations or quests from what's saved, and the route keeps following quests under a collapsed header.
- WoW Forever: reputations are saved (they came through empty), and First Aid is recognised.
- WoW Forever: quest objectives are saved without the "0/6" count in front, so shared quests find the item
they ask for.
- WoW Forever: notes what vendors sell and what trainers teach, and for how much, when you talk to them.
They're shared with your quests and field notes, so the website can say where Forever's items and
recipes come from.
- Classic Era: **Scan now** no longer saves a page of ordinary browsing as the whole auction house, whether
another addon ran a full scan in the last 15 minutes or the game ignored the scan because a search had
just gone out. The button says "Scan soon" until the game allows one, and chat says when the game
didn't take a scan.
- Without Auctionator, closing the auction house no longer prints a message every time. An Auctionator with
no prices no longer empties a scan that hasn't been written to the file yet.
- The route sets its TomTom arrow once per step instead of on every quest update, so an arrow you point
somewhere yourself stays put. A route you close stays closed after loading screens until you open it
again with `/wft route`.
- The "Reload now to save prices?" offer after a scan is now a small window of the addon's own. The game's
popup it used before could block Escape and the game's Quit button for the rest of the session
("ADDON FORBIDDEN: SpellStopCasting / ForceQuit").
**Website**
*Routes*
- WoW Forever routes now fill in quests Forever's data hasn't seen yet from Classic Era, so Alliance
characters get real routes and Horde routes no longer stall into long grinding. Those steps are marked †.
- Routes never send a character to the other faction's quests, grinding skips rare creatures and town
NPCs, and at level 60 a route no longer counts experience you can't earn.
- Synced characters start where they last stood, with the quests already in their log and their rested
XP. Reputation routes start from the synced standing.
- Routes plan several times faster, and "Show more steps" no longer plans again.
- **Handed in** marks a quest complete and credits its experience (with Undo). Picking a quest up or
finishing an objective is ticked off without changing the route.
*Gear*
- Suggestions only offer what your character can use: no other classes' tier pieces, other-faction or
race-only items, PvP gear above your honor rank, or test items.
- No off-hand while you wield a two-hander, no ring or trinket you already wear in the other slot, and
WoW Forever robes show their armor.
*Professions*
- WoW Forever plans use each recipe's real required skill, and raid, dungeon, quest and drop recipes are
no longer planned as "learn from a trainer".
- Recipes your character knows (from the game) need no trainer visit, and the reagent list shows what's
already in your bags and bank.
*Characters*
- A **Class trainer** card on Home: what to train now and soon, with costs and the total to 40 and 60.
- **Copy link to this character** to open it on a phone or share it, plus **Back up** and **Restore**.
- Adding a character by hand uses drop-downs for race and class, and quests can be typed by name.
- A **Get started** guide on Home walks new players through the first steps.
*Everywhere*
- Tables sort from the keyboard, and on phones from a "Sort by" list; keyboard users keep their place
after clicks; better contrast in light mode.
- Returning visitors download only what changed since their last visit.
- Fonts come from the tracker's own site (no Google), and a Privacy section explains what's stored and sent.
- Clearer wording throughout, zone names instead of numbers in Game data, and no test entries.
## 12 — 2026-10-05
**Addon**
- The website has moved to https://wowforevertracker.up.railway.app: the addon's links point there.
- **Scan now** saves every item it finds at the auction house, including items a newer patch added that
your copy of the addon doesn't list yet.
**Website**
- More gear and set bonuses count in upgrade comparisons: shield block value, health every 5 seconds,
spell penetration, maximum mana and all-round critical strike. For example, Battlegear of Might's
three-piece bonus and Pauldrons of Wrath's block value now add to your numbers instead of only showing
as text.
## 11 — 2026-10-04
The first release packaged for players.
**Addon**
- One download for both games: the addon picks WoW Forever's or Classic Era's item list by itself at login.
- **Scan now** button at the top of the auction house (or `/wft scan`): scans the whole auction house you're
at and saves each item's cheapest buyout per unit. No other addon needed. The game allows one full scan
every 15 minutes; the button counts down.
- A scan of your own isn't replaced by Auctionator's older prices for six hours (`/wft prices` still saves
Auctionator's when you ask).
- Messages point to the website instead of a command line.
**Website**
- **Download the addon** button on the Characters, Share quests, route and Stats pages.
- Set bonuses: a set piece's tooltip lists the whole set, with the pieces you wear lit and each bonus green
once it's active. Upgrade suggestions count bonuses gained or lost, and say "completes" or "loses" a set.
- Icons for every item: the Market, the profession plan's reagents, Game data, What's new and the Home page.
- Click any table heading to sort by it; click again to reverse.
- Fixed: WoW Forever marks many quest rewards "Requires Level 1" at any item level, so a low-level
character was told an item-level-60 weapon was its best upgrade. Those now count as having no requirement.
## 10 — 2026-10-04
**Addon**
- After closing the auction house with 20 or more new prices, a popup offers to reload so they're saved at
once (`/wft reloadprompt off` to turn it off).
- Opening the auction house with prices over six hours old suggests a fresh scan.
**Website**
- Item tooltips show what gear does beyond its stats: "Use:" (with cooldown), "Equip:" and
"Chance on hit:" lines, in the game's own words.
- Hovering an upgrade or a shopping list item shows it beside what you're wearing, like holding Shift in
game, with every stat change in green or red.
- The gear section is laid out like the in-game character window, with real item icons, quality borders,
game-style tooltips and your average item level.
- Fixed: 14 real items whose names start with "Old" (Old Blanchy's Feed Pouch, Old Key and others) were
being left out of the data.
- Fixed: test and placeholder items ("(DNT) …") no longer appear as upgrades.
- Spell and talent descriptions fill in more of their numbers (durations, radii, other spells' text).
## 9 — 2026-10-04
**Addon**
- Reads your real crit chance from agility and spell crit from intellect, per level, so gear comparisons use
the game's own numbers.
**Website**
- **Home** page: your character at a glance, with XP to the next level, the start of the quickest route,
professions and when the next rank trains, best gear upgrades, unspent talent points and dungeons for
your level.
- **Dungeons**: every dungeon and raid by level, how it suits you, the quests inside you can take, and
its loot ranked as upgrades.
- Redesigned Stats page: big numbers up top, then charts of how hits land on you and how your own swings
land, armor against its cap, and resistances.
- The route, profession plan and Market lists get charts: levels or skill along the way, time per step,
gold an hour and profit per craft.
- Gear suggestions default to what your class levels for (a paladin gets melee, not healing).
## 8 — 2026-10-03
**Addon**
- Quests are placed as soon as you talk to an NPC: everything they offer or take back is noted from
their dialog, without needing to accept it.
## 7 — 2026-10-03
**Addon**
- Saves each active buff's spell id with the character sheet.
**Website**
- Stats can show your character without the buffs that were up when the sheet was read.
## 6 — 2026-10-02
**Addon**
- Fixed: errors at login and on every quest log update in WoW Forever 1.60.1.70170, which removed the old
quest log functions. The addon now reads the quest log the new way where needed.
**Website**
- Reorganised into four sections (Planner, Professions, Character, Data) that fit on a phone, with a
character switcher at the top. Long lists show a page at a time; on phones, table rows become cards.
- **Best upgrade for every slot**: a shopping list for your whole character, with where each item comes
from (quest reward, drop with chance and zone, vendor or recipe).
- Weapon suggestions follow each class's weapon skills.
- Forever's talents that its client leaves unnamed now show Classic's name and text.
## 5 — 2026-10-02
**Addon**
- Saves your character sheet (health, mana, stats, armor, resistances, attack and spell power, crit, hit,
avoidance, regen, weapons), equipped gear and talents, out of combat (`/wft stats`).
**Website**
- **Stats** page: effective health against physical and magic damage, avoidance, white damage per weapon,
and every damage and healing spell's numbers, from your own sheet.
- Gear comparison: every item that fits a slot, ranked by what it changes for your chosen goal.
- Where to farm: search for any resource to farm.
## 4 — 2026-09-25
**Addon**
- Field notes: from every loot window, where creatures and herb or ore nodes are and what they drop
(skinning noted apart).
**Website**
- **Talents** planner for every class, with each rank's real description; share builds as links or save
them on a character.
- **What's new**: what each WoW Forever patch changed.
- **Worth crafting**: recipes that sell for more than their reagents cost.
- Where to farm ranks spots by gold an hour.
- Install the site as an app, and open what you've seen before offline.
- Forever's spawns and drop rates come from what players share, ahead of Classic Era's.
## 3 — 2026-09-25
**Addon**
- Works in WoW Forever's client: no more offer to disable the addon, and your character is saved while
you play rather than at logout, when Forever reports it empty.
**Website**
- Routes and farming spots drawn on the game's own zone maps.
- **Where to farm**: the best spot to level Herbalism, Mining or Skinning or collect any reagent, with a
"Safe spots only" switch. Herb and ore spots count by how often they actually hold a node.
## 2 — 2026-09-24
**Addon**
- Saves your character: level, XP, gold, completed quests, professions, reputation and flight paths.
- Collects quests as you play them: who gives and takes them, where objectives happen and what they pay.
- Route guide: paste a route from the site with `/wft route`; it shows the next step and moves on by
itself, with a TomTom arrow if TomTom is installed.
**Website**
- **Import from game**: read the addon's file in your browser to add or update your characters.
- **Send to game**: copy a planned route into the addon.
- **Share quests**: upload the quests and field notes you've collected so everyone's routes improve.
Only quests and notes are sent, never names, realms, gold or prices, and every upload is reviewed.
- Delete characters from the roster, with undo.
- Fixed: battleground and Blackrock quests no longer make level routes look shorter than they are.
## 1 — 2026-09-23
**Addon**
- Saves Auctionator's prices for the tracker when you close the auction house or log out.
**Website**
- Market prices from your own auction house scans.
## Before the addon — 2026-09-20 to 09-22
- Quest route planner: the most XP per minute to a level, a quest or a reputation, with travel by foot,
mount, flight path, boat and zeppelin; kill XP, real drop rates and objective counts; grinding when the
quests run out.
- Profession planner: the cheapest way from your skill to a target, buying, farming or crafting reagents.
- Farming spots ranked by what an hour is worth.
- Game data browser for quests, items, NPCs, objects, spells and more, for WoW Forever and Classic Era.
