World of Tools 1.0.8

A big one. Two new tools, Holo Map and Node +, recommended quests in the tracker, map marks with notes, the bank on WoW Forever, and Whisper + grows up with message requests, blocks, keyword rules and a Channels tab. And World of Tools now has its own Discord!

Discord

• World of Tools now has its own Discord: news first, bug reports, ideas, shared NPCs and discoveries, in English and Italian. Join here: discord.gg/Ur72PPBBnN
• The What's new window has a Discord button that copies the link, and the link is also on the About page of the settings

Holo Map (new tool)

• A see-through map drawn over the game that follows you, with the land, the roads, the towns and a cone where you face. It never takes the mouse
• Three looks: Hologram, Circle and Rectangle. Roads come first and go through the six capitals too, with their bridges and gates, plus the lower levels of Undercity and Ironforge
• Flight masters, innkeepers, vendors and trainers, your quest markers and the guide route as moving dots, like the other maps. Icon size and label size have their own sliders
• Tilt it, let it turn with you, change the zoom, the soft edge and the colors. A row at the top of its settings opens Blueprint Mode to move it
• Off by default: turn it on in the Interface group, then type /wot holo move to place and size it

Node + (new tool)

• Herbs and ore on your minimap get their own icons with the skill they need, sparkles on the node in front of you, an alert when one comes into range and an arrow to the nearest. Needs Find Herbs or Find Minerals
• Tooltips show how many times you gathered there. Shift + click a pin on the map or right-click it on the minimap to hide it
• Follow my professions shows only what you can gather, and nodes just out of range wait on the minimap edge
• On by default

Quests +

• Recommended quests at the top of the quest tracker: the best quests for your level near you. Click one to point the arrow at its quest giver

Map marks

• Your marks get a title and a note of more lines, a choice of icons and colors, and can show on the minimap or the continent too
• Alt + right-click the game map or type /wot mark to add one, Ctrl + Shift + drag to move it

Whisper +

• Message requests: whispers from strangers wait at the bottom of the list without a sound until you reply or accept. Off by default. Adjust it in Whisper + > Whispers
• Block a player for an hour, a day, a week or for good from the right-click menu. Their whispers never show, and Unblock all clears the list
• Keyword rules: words that hide or quiet whispers from strangers, each with a count of the whispers it caught
• Channels: General, Trade, Looking for group and your other channels get a Channels tab. Off by default. Adjust it in Whisper + > Group chats
• Typing and seen: with someone who also uses Whisper +, the chat header shows when they type and when they have seen your message
• Message preview: while Whisper + is closed, a note by its button shows who wrote you
• Two more buttons can join the one by the chat: a free one you drag anywhere, and one on the minimap edge with the same gold border as the others (on by default). Point at any of them to see your unread chats
• Shift + click a chat to look the player up with /who, and drag pinned chats to put them in your own order
• During boss fights, Mythic+ and rated PvP the game holds whispers back from addons: a note above the reply box tells you to answer with /w in the game's chat, and the whispers show up in Whisper + after the fight
• A player you type with a different spelling or realm now opens the same chat, R answers the right person when Battle.net friends write you too, whispers from Game Masters are never filtered, and the list stays fast in big raids

Compass +

• While you are a ghost, your corpse shows with the game's tombstone icon
• Every mark on the bar has the dark round backing, quest givers and flight masters too
• Clicking a quest on the bar also tracks it, so the arrow and the world marker follow it

Backpack +

• Bank on WoW Forever: you can buy new bank tabs right from the bank window. The window always moves by its title and stays on screen
• Window opacity for the bags and the bank, from 30 to 100%
• With a controller, item tooltips show on the Backpack + and bank slots

Map filters

• Shared discoveries: elite and rare enemies and quest objects found by the World of Tools team show on Map ∞ and the game map for everyone, with the Discoveries filters. Your own finds always come first
• More shared NPCs: the NPC database that comes with World of Tools now holds 419 NPCs

Settings

• UI scale in General makes the whole game interface bigger or smaller
• Double-click the name of any slider to put it back to its default

Fixes

• The World of Tools button in the game menu shows again for everyone
• The world marker no longer takes the quest you track away from you, and does not come back after you untrack it on the map
• Backpack + keeps marking quest items when the quest's header in the quest log is collapsed
• The guard's direction flag on Map ∞ shows again where it did not appear
• A cleaner and lighter Compass +, with fewer updates while you quest
